Shanghai to Host the 15th The International: Dates and Format for TI 2026 Revealed
China will once again become the capital of major esports. This time, Shanghai will host the 15th anniversary edition of The International 2026 in Dota 2. The Dongfang Sports Center will welcome 16 of the strongest teams in the world, who will compete for the Aegis of Champions.
The tournament will begin with the Group Stage (August 13–16), which will be played in a Swiss format. All teams will compete in multiple rounds against opponents with the same win–loss record, ensuring максимально competitive and balanced matchups. Teams that secure the required number of wins will advance to the next stage, while those who reach the maximum number of losses will be eliminated from the tournament.
The Main Event will take place from August 20 to 23. Details regarding the playoff format and bracket structure have not yet been announced. The organizers also confirmed that the total prize pool will be revealed at a later date.
