Team Tidebound defeat Team Liquid 2:0 in the group stage of The International 2025
On September 4, the biggest tournament of the year in Dota 2 — The International 2025 — kicked off, traditionally bringing together the strongest teams in the world. Already in the second round of the group stage, Team Tidebound delivered real intrigue for their fans: in a tense and emotional battle, they secured a 2:0 victory over Team Liquid, reinforcing a confident start to their championship journey.
The first map began with Team Liquid taking the lead in the overall score. By the 15th minute, however, Team Tidebound managed to close the gap to 10-12. Throughout the game, Team Liquid kept responding and leveling the score. The key player in Tidebound’s victory was NothingToSay, who played Earthshaker and dealt the most damage — 29,000 in total.
The second map ended at the 27th minute, also in favor of Team Tidebound. Team Liquid couldn’t withstand the aggressive playstyle of their opponents, while Insania finished the game with a 0/5/7 scoreline. It’s also worth highlighting shiro’s performance on Morphling, as he did not die once throughout the map and closed the game with a 6/0/8 score.
With this victory, Team Tidebound secure a 2-0 record in the group stage, while Team Liquid continue their run with a less comfortable, but not yet critical, 2-1 record. The International 2025 is the most prestigious Dota 2 tournament, organized by Valve. The base prize pool of The International 2025 is $1,600,000, with the rest of the funds raised through in-game transactions.
