Tidebound Defeat NAVI at The International 2025 Group Stage
On September 4, the main Dota 2 tournament of the year, The International 2025, began. Among the matches of the first game day, one of the most interesting was Tidebound vs NAVI, in which the former won with a score of 2-1. In this article, we will tell you about the most interesting and key moments of the match.
Map 1: good game from Tidebound
Tidebound and Natus Vincere are teams of approximately the same level, so their match was expected to be close. It was already interesting to watch at the hero draft stage, which went better for NAVI on the first map.
The teams started off not very actively, with almost no team fights or kills. The situation changed closer to the midgame, Tidebound gained a small advantage and perfectly realized it by breaking towers. The main strength of the team on this map was shiro, who played Shadow Fiend. The player pushed lanes excellently and by the end of the game had a score of 8-2-8.
As a result, Tidebound won the first map with a score of 28-15, the match lasted 36 minutes.
Map 2: comeback from NAVI
The second map was the opposite of the first. NAVI and Tidebound picked heroes of roughly equal strength, which was noticeable already at the laning stage. Natus Vincere had better map movements, the team perfectly caught lone enemy players and secured kills. In the midgame NAVI had two excellent fights, created an advantage of 15k gold, and Tidebound typed GG. The match lasted 31 minutes and ended with a score of 22-12 in favor of Natus Vincere. The game went to a third map.
Map 3: Tidebound Victory
The third map turned out to be the most interesting. Although Tidebound played the first number most of the time, NAVI occasionally responded sharply, catching enemy players as a team.
Tidebound’s core heroes, Juggernaut and Sand King, performed very successfully, with the former finishing the game without a single death. Although Natus Vincere had some good moments, the advantage still remained with Tidebound. As a result, the Chinese team won with a score of 27-14, and the match lasted almost 45 minutes.
Tidebound advance to a 1-0 score and await the matches of other teams to find out their next opponent.
