Team Spirit confidently defeat Wildcard Gaming in The International 2025 group stage
On September 4, 2025, as part of the group stage of The International 2025, a match took place between Team Spirit and Wildcard Gaming. The series was played in a best-of-three format and ended with a 2:0 victory for Team Spirit.
Map 1: Gradual dominance from Spirit
The first map unfolded relatively calmly: Wildcard tried to hold back the pressure and found some local trades, but by the mid-game Team Spirit had already built a noticeable lead.
The key roles were played by Yatoro and Collapse. The carry accumulated an impressive amount of gold and damage, while the offlaner completely controlled the crucial fights. Larl provided consistent damage output, and Miposhka together with rue delivered timely support to the team.
Wildcard failed to put up a real fight. Their players were constantly under pressure, and by the end of the match Spirit had a significant advantage in both economy and kills. The map was sealed when Yatoro scored a rampage on Shadow Fiend.
Map 2: A 22-minute stomp
The second map turned out to be the complete opposite of the first. Team Spirit seized the initiative right from the start and left their opponents no chance. The game lasted only 22 minutes and ended in a crushing defeat.
Yatoro once again delivered a flawless performance, finishing the map without a single death. Larl and Collapse set a relentless pace, while the supports once again demonstrated reliability, avoiding any major mistakes.
Wildcard looked disorganized and managed to secure just one kill throughout the entire game. The team was unable to execute either their draft or their early strategy.
The International 2025 is the most prestigious tournament in the Dota 2 discipline, organized by Valve. The initial prize pool of The International is set at $1,600,000 USD, with the rest being raised through in-game transactions.
