NAVI Junior Defeat OG to Secure Spot at The International 2025
NAVI Junior have officially qualified for The International 2025, marking the NAVI organization’s first appearance at Dota 2’s most prestigious tournament since 2019. The Ukrainian squad defeatedOG 2–1 in the upper bracket final of the Western Europe qualifiers, held on June 16. With that win, NAVI Junior secured a direct slot at TI 2025, which will take place from September 4 to 14 in Hamburg, Germany, featuring 16 of the best teams in the world and a prize pool starting at $1.6 million.
The qualifier run by NAVI Junior has been nothing short of remarkable. Starting all the way from the open qualifiers, they advanced through the upper bracket of the closed qualifier with victories over Yellow Submarine, Nigma Galaxy, and 1win Team. Their final challenge came against OG, a legacy organization reinforced earlier this season by the return of two-time TI champion Johan “N0tail” Sundstein as coach. Despite OG’s improved structure and performance — including a dominant 2–0 win over 4Pirates — they were unable to stop the junior squad’s momentum.
In the final, NAVI Junior held their nerve through a tense three-game series, showing confident drafting, sharp macro play, and consistent individual performances under pressure. This marks a historic achievement for the junior roster, proving that even developmental lineups can deliver on the biggest stages.
It’s a double success for NAVI Junior, who also recently secured qualification for the Esports World Cup 2025, another international Dota 2 event set to take place from July 8 to 17. With back-to-back top-tier tournament appearances ahead, the spotlight now turns to how far this emerging team can go.
NAVI fans can celebrate the return of the black-and-yellow to The International — and this time, it’s the youth who’ve led the charge.
