BLAST Slam III Recap: Winner and Highlights
From May 6 to 11, 2025, one of the most exciting LAN tournaments of the year in Dota 2 took place — BLAST Slam III. The event brought together the top 10 teams who battled for the championship title and a prize pool of $1 million. Just like the previous events in this series, BLAST Slam III stood out not only due to the high level of competition or the prize pool but also because of its unique format, which differs from standard tournaments. In this article, we’ll walk you through how BLAST Slam III unfolded, who took the crown, and the most exciting moments of the tournament.

Playoff Results
As mentioned earlier, BLAST Slam III featured an unconventional format. While most Dota 2 tournaments host 12 to 16 teams, this one had only 10, and matches were played in a best-of-one (bo1) format. Since each match consisted of just a single game, the group stage took place in just one day, after which teams advanced to the playoffs. Each team entered the playoffs in a round that corresponded to their placement in the group stage. Here are the playoff results from BLAST Slam III:
Round 1 | Round 2 | Quarterfinals | Semifinals | Grand Final | |||||
Team Liquid | 1 | PARIVISION | 1 | Team Tidebound | 0 | Team Falcons | 2 |
Tundra Esports Defeat Team Falcons to Win BLAST Slam III

In the Grand Final of BLAST Slam III, held in a best-of-five (bo5) format, Team Falcons faced Tundra Esports. Both teams had been performing well this season and had secured top placements at tier-1 events, so there was no clear favorite heading into the match. Without going into too much detail — which you can find on statistical websites — we’ll just say that Tundra Esports proved to be the stronger side, winning the series 3-1. Two of the maps lasted over 50 minutes, making this a highly competitive and entertaining final.
Prize Pool Distribution
As a tier-1 tournament, BLAST Slam III offered a $1 million prize pool. This event was not only a great preparation opportunity for upcoming major tournaments but also a chance for teams to earn significant rewards. Here’s how the prize pool was distributed at BLAST Slam III:
Place | $ USD | Team Earnings |
Tundra Esports | $300,000 | $100,000 |
Team Falcons | $150,000 | $50,000 |
Team Spirit, Gaimin Gladiators | $60,000 | $20,000 |
As you can see, BLAST Slam III follows modern standards of prize distribution, with both players and their organizations receiving a share. This ensures transparency and a fair reward system for all participants. How would you rate BLAST Slam III?
