DreamLeague Season 25: Tournament Format and Participating Teams

From January 7 to January 11, 2025, closed qualifiers took place across all regions for one of the biggest Dota 2 tournaments of the season, DreamLeague Season 25 . Following these qualifiers, 12 teams advanced to join 4 invited teams and will compete in the tournament's main stage. It’s worth noting that DreamLeague is truly a top-tier event with a $1 million prize pool, giving teams plenty to fight for.

DreamLeague Season 25 Format

The tournament will run from February 16 to March 2, 2025, featuring a Round-robin group stage and Double-elimination playoffs. Similar to previous seasons, the competition will consist of multiple stages:

Group Stage 1: February 16–19, 2025

  • Two single round-robin groups, each with eight teams.
  • All series are best-of-two (Bo2).
  • The top four teams from each group advance to Group Stage 2.
  • The remaining teams are eliminated.

Group Stage 2: February 21–27, 2025

  • A single round-robin group of eight teams.
  • All matches are best-of-three (Bo3).
  • The top two teams advance to the upper bracket of the playoffs.
  • The 3rd and 4th place teams advance to the lower bracket of the playoffs.
  • The remaining teams are eliminated.

Playoffs: March 1–2, 2025

  • Double-elimination bracket.
  • All matches, except the Grand Final, are Bo3.
  • The Grand Final is best-of-five (Bo5).

This format is well-suited for ensuring a large number of matches, giving each team ample opportunity to showcase their skills.

DreamLeague Season 25 will feature 16 teams, 4 of which were directly invited based on their positions on the EPT Leaderboard, while the other 12 earned their spots through regional closed qualifiers. Below is the full list of participants:

DreamLeague Season 25 Prize Pool

As is tradition, the tournament boasts a $1 million prize pool. Additionally, teams will earn EPT Points based on their final standings. Here is the prize distribution for the top places:
