DreamLeague S25: Playoff Summary and Tournament Winner

From February 16, 2025, to March 4, 2025, one of the biggest Dota 2 tournaments of the early season, DreamLeague Season 25, took place. The tournament featured 16 teams from various regions competing for the championship title and a prize pool of $1 million. Naturally, the competition was intense, with every stage of the tournament deserving the title of a final. In this article, we will recap the last stage of the tournament—the playoffs—highlighting key moments and revealing the winner of DreamLeague S25.

DreamLeague S25: Playoff Summary and Tournament Winner 1

Lower Bracket Semifinal

The playoff stage at DreamLeague S25 had a rather unusual format, as only four teams participated, with placements determined by the results of Group Stage 2. The Lower Bracket Semifinal featured Team Spirit and Chimera Esports. At first glance, Team Spirit were the clear favorites, being one of the strongest Dota 2 teams in recent years, but Chimera Esports had other plans. This team performed exceptionally well throughout DreamLeague S25 and was considered the tournament’s biggest sensation.

The first map lasted an astonishing 71 minutes, with Chimera securing victory 42-35. On the second map, Team Spirit responded with a dominant performance, winning 36-8 in just 25 minutes. The third map became the highlight of the day, setting a record as the longest professional Dota 2 match of 2025, lasting an incredible 82 minutes. In the end, Team Spirit emerged victorious with a score of 44-29, advancing to the next stage, while Chimera Esports finished in 4th place, earning $60,000 in prize money.

Upper Bracket Final

This stage of the playoffs featured two key matches: PARIVISION vs. Tundra Esports, where the winner would advance to the Grand Final, while the loser would face Team Spirit. To get straight to the point, Tundra Esports defeated PARIVISION 2-1. The match didn’t have many thrilling moments, as Tundra secured their wins in under 30 minutes.

In the second match, PARIVISION faced Team Spirit. Throughout DreamLeague S25, PARIVISION had been in excellent form, with many considering them favorites for the title. However, after their grueling match against Tundra Esports, they seemed exhausted and couldn’t showcase their usual level of play, ultimately losing 0-2. As a result, PARIVISION secured an honorable 3rd place and $80,000 in prize money, while Team Spirit advanced to the Grand Final.

Grand Final

The Grand Final of DreamLeague Season 25 was the true highlight of the tournament. The match was played in a best-of-5 format, leaving no room for luck to decide the winner. In addition to the intense gameplay, something unexpected occurred. During the fourth map, Team Spirit suffered a DDOS attack, leading to a two-hour pause. Due to technical issues, the match was not resumed that day and was postponed for two days.

The game resumed on March 4, and after a fierce battle, Team Spirit claimed victory with a 3-2 scoreline. Every map was filled with excitement, and it would take more than ten pages to describe all the action. With this victory, Team Spirit became the DreamLeague S25 champions, taking home $250,000 in prize money, while Tundra Esports finished in second place, earning $100,000. Congratulations to the winners and all the teams for their achievements!
