Welcome to EGamersWorld.
We continue to watch the action at PGL Bucharest 2025 as the group stage heats up. It's being played in the Swiss Stage format.
Let's talk about the 1-0 basket, where we will see a very non-trivial match. Let's take a look at the Astralis - 3DMax match.
We are trying to figure out who from the pair 3DMax - Astralis will be stronger and earn the second victory in the PGL Bucharest 2025, and who will have to continue their way through the tournament already in the 1-1 grid.
Let's go.
Astralis Form
Let's open the analysis of Astralis vs 3DMax match with the analysis of Astralis' form. In this match they play as favourites with odds to win at around 1.8.
The Danish club had a difficult period. They have been trying their best to "return" to the TIR-1 scene, but they have always fallen short: Astralis finished top-20 at ESL Pro League Season 17 and top-14 at BLAST.tv Paris Major 2023: European RMR B.
At lesser tournaments, however, Astralis fared well. The world's most titled team finished Top 2 at Brazy Party, won CCT South Europe Series #4 and finished Top 4 at Pinnacle Cup V.
Returning to the S-Tier Championships, Astralis took Top 6 at IEM Masters Dallas 2023 and Top 8 at BLAST Premier: Fall Groups.
Prior to the BB Dacha, Astralis attended a number of other events. Those were ESL Pro League Season 18 and Roobet Cup 2023, where the once stellar Danes finished in the Top 16.
Just before the Long Convergence, BB Dacha Astralis finished in the Top 4 at CS Asia Championship 2023 and Top 8 at BLAST Premier: Fall Finals. The swing in performance is primarily due to roster manipulation.
- Astralis roster: Staehr, stavn, jabbi, CadiaN, Device.
Before IEM Katowice 2024 they played at BLAST Premier: Spring Groups 2024. At the end of the championship the Danes made it to the top 6 and it was enough to get to the BLAST Premier: Spring Final. The IEM Katowice 2024 Astralis failed in the dust and dust: took the top 32, not passing the Play-In stage.
Then there were two attempts to get to the PGL Major Copenhagen 2024, but both failed: TOP-11 at European RMR B and TOP-6 at European RMR Decider put an end to Astralis' participation in the home Major.
In the first match of IEM China 2024 Astralis played against steel helmet, as Monte could not make it to China. And if Monte had played there, the score would have been obviously not so crushing as 13-2 in favour of Astralis. Although, judging by the match with FaZe, where Astralis were a head and shoulders above FaZe, shutting down the top 1 team in the world with a score of 2-0, maybe Astralis are very energised for IEM China 2024. In the play-offs of the championship Astralis met FaZe Clan again, but this time they were weaker and lost with the score 1-2 and left the tournament.
Astralis visited ESL Pro League Season 19, where they reached the TOP-4, where in the match for the grand final Ledge and Vitality. Later, they had an identical result at CCT Season 1 Global Finals and YaLLa Compass 2024.
At BLAST Premier: Spring Finals 2024, Astralis played in Group A, where they finished in the top 3. They made it to the play-offs Ledge or Vp and left the tournament at the Top 6 stage. Later Astralis played at IEM Cologne 2024, where they finished top-12.
At the ESL Pro League Season 20 Long Season they were defeated by Fnatic (1-2). Next was a match against CoL (0-2). They finished ESL Pro League Season 20 as ignominiously as they started - losing to CoL and leaving the tournament at the TOP-28 stage.
After such poor results Astralis continued their attempts to return to the TIR-1 stage. For this purpose, they played at BLAST Premier: Fall Final 2024, where they took TOP-8 and at Intel Extreme Masters Rio 2024, where they were TOP-12. As you can see, the attempts were not successful.
Astralis did well in the group stage of BLAST Premier: World Final 2024, leaving behind MOUZ, FaZe and NaVi. After winning Group A, Astralis directly qualified for the semi-finals. However, that was the end of their journey through BLAST Premier: World Final 2024, and Spirit advanced to the grand finals.
Astralis Long Sogpeg at PW Shanghai Major 2024: European RMR B with a loss against 9 Pandas, followed by Ledgeili and Sashi Esports. They managed to come together only by the third match against B8. However, the music didn't last long for Astralis and they failed to make it to Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024.
At BLAST Bounty Season 1 Astralis Long started with a victory over Wildcard, but then - NaVi and lost. At the end of BLAST Bounty Season 1, Astralis finished in the top 9-16.
Astralis also attended IEM Katowice 2025, where they made it to the group stage, but did not manage to take high places there. TOP-12 is not a good result. Later, Astralis had TOP-3 at PGL Cluj-Napoca 2025, which is a great result for Astralis.
After TOP-3 at Cluj-Napoca 2025 Astralis visited BLAST Open Spring 2025, where they finished TOP-12. At PGL Bucharest 2025 Long Sogpeg with a victory over FaZe, who by the way knocked Astralis out of BLAST Open Spring 2025.

3DMax Form
We continue the analysis of the match 3DMax vs Astralis with the analysis of 3DMax form. In this match 3DMax play as the number two with odds to win around 2.
3DMAX's record includes an appearance at CCT West Europe Serie #3, which was the debut tournament for the Frenchmen. There they reached the top 3, which can be called a good Long Sogpeg.
Then there was a series of qualifying tournaments and local championships. Among those that can be noted is ESL Championnat National Spring 2023, which was the first tournament won for the French.
3DMAX's performance improved in the second half of the year. Among other things, they won the qualifiers for ESL Challenger at DreamHack Winter 2023: European Open Qualifier and ESL Challenger at DreamHack Winter 2023: European Qualifier. They also won the ESEA Cash Cup: Europe - Autumn 2023 #2.
- 3DMAX roster: Lucky, Djoko, Ex3rcice, Maka, Graviti.
The last event for 3DMAX was CCT East Europe Series #3. There we managed to reach TOP-2, but a little bit was not enough: 3DMAX took TOP-2, losing in the finals to 1WIN.
After 3DMAX played at ESL Challenger Winter 2023. They managed to get into the top 8, which is not a good result.
At ESL Challenger League Season 46: Europe 3DMAX shone. The Frenchmen went over the heads of their opponents very confidently, which eventually translated into a tournament victory with a convincing 3-0 win against forZe in the grand finals.
The 2024 season saw far fewer high-profile victories. 3DMAX finished top-11 at PGL Major Copenhagen 2024: European Qualifier, IEM China 2024: European Open Qualifier, top-4 at RES Western European Masters: Spring 2024, and top-12 at European RMR A.
Prior to the ESL Pro League Season 19, 3DMAX played at A1 Gaming League Season 8, where they finished in the Top 2.
At the ESL Pro League Season 19 3DMAX debuted as an outsider in a match against sAw, but showed class and won a tough series with extra rounds in each of the two maps. And then there was a match against Fnatic, where 3DMAX made a mini-sensation by beating the "orange" with a score of 2-0, and they beat them very confidently, giving 15 rounds in two maps.
At the ESL Pro League Season 19 3DMAX were quite confident in the play-offs of the championship. The only defeat in the group stage was from Astralis in the match for seeding for the play-offs. However, in the play-offs 3DMax song did not play long: defeat against G2 and TOP-12 in the end.
During the season 3DMax had other attempts to make a name for themselves at the Tier-S tournaments. For example, they played at the Intel Extreme Masters Cologne 2024, where they finished in the top-24, having been beaten 1-2 by Heroic. They tried their luck again at ESL Pro League Season 20, but this time the result was worse than at ESL Pro League S19 - TOP-20.
3DMax's performance was much better at lower ranked tournaments. For example, 3DMax were champions of YaLLa Compass Summer 2024 and ranked in the top 3 at Thunderpick World Championship 2024 and ESL Challenger League Season 48: Europe.
Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024: European RMR B, 3DMax started with a win over TSM and then, somewhat surprisingly, beat Eternal Fire in a 2-0 shutout match. Next up was a win over G2 Esports and a pass to the Elimination Stage.
At the PW Shanghai Major 2024: Elimination Stage 3DMax played to their level: 1-3 and final top-13.
At the Long Season 2025 3DMax took part in BLAST Bounty Season 1. However, they didn't have to play there for long: defeat by Heroic with the score 1-2 and the final TOP-32.
Next - IEM Katowice 2025 and Long Corner from the Play-In stage. In the Play-In 3DMax showed themselves very well: they defeated FlyQuest and MIBR with a score of 2-0 each. In the group stage, Long Corner were defeated against Vitality, which led them to the lower grid. Directly in the bottom set, 3DMax were outplayed by BIG. But they were prevented from advancing further by Eternal Fire, who knocked 3DMax into the top 8 of the tournament.
PGL Cluj-Napoca 2025 Long They started with a win over Vp. Then they lost to MOUZ and outplayed MIBR. However, they failed to make it to the play-offs with a 2-1 score: further losses by Eternal Fire and sAw brought 3DMax to the top 9 at the end of the tournament.
At the ESL Pro League Season 21 Long Conference, 3DMax unexpectedly lost 0-2 to Tyloo before beating Mindfreak. Subsequent wins over Heroic and M80 took 3DMax to the next stage. At ESL Pro League Season 21 Stage 2, the French beat Eternal Fire and Falcons, and lost to Vitality and MongolZ. They failed to qualify for the play-offs after losing to Liquid in the gridiron match 2-2.
At PGL Bucharest 2025, French club Long Sogpegoval defeated MongolZ.
3DMAX Mappool
3DMAX's top 1 map for the last 3 months is Mirage. L4O has a mind-blowing 92% winrate with 13 games played.
Played also on Inferno, where they won 5 matches out of 7 games. In plus winrate and Nuke, where with 5 matches and 3 wins.
The most not favoured card for 3DMAX would be Vertigo. There they have 6 maps and only 1 win.
History of head-to-head meetings 3DMax - Astralis
The teams played each other at ESL Pro League Season 19. Astralis won that time.
Predicted result of Astralis vs 3DMax at PGL Bucharest 2025.
In this match I will expect a full-fledged Bo3. Both teams showed roughly equal play in PGL Bucharest 2025, so I expect an equal game.
Bottom line: total +2.5.
