INTZ and Riot Squad became the first participants in the closed North American Quals at Intel Extreme Masters Katowice 2020. Two more participants will be identified today through a second open qualification.

Closed selections for North America will be held January 7–9 in the online format. They will play one invite to the LAN-finals of IEM Katowice 2020.

Intel Extreme Masters Katowice 2020 will be held from February 25 to March 1 in Katowice, Poland. The venue for the playoffs will traditionally be Spodek Arena, and the championship’s total prize pool will be $ 500,000. For the main cash prize of $ 250,000, 16 participants will compete, 3 of which are already known. Fnatic earned an invite by winning DreamHack Masters Malmo 2019, Astralis got an invite after a triumph at IEM Beijing 2019, and mousesports were invited after their stunning victory at the ESL Pro League Season 10 Finals.
