Copenhagen Flames and Movistar Riders qualified for IEM Fall 2021 Europe

Copenhagen Flames and Movistar Riders became the winners of the second open qualifier for IEM Fall 2021 Europe. Both teams will now have the opportunity to compete for the first RMR points in the closed qualifier in September.

The Danes qualified in one go, quickly finishing off Quantum Flames (16: 2), Royals (16:10), AURA (16:11) and OPAA Gaming (16:11). However, in the 1/8 finals, the team had problems in the game against AGO, which could have resulted in a defeat and elimination from qualification. Nevertheless, Copenhagen Flames managed to cope with the Polish team (16:14) in order to defeat Wisła Kraków (2: 0) a day later and get a ticket to the closed qualifier.

The tournament path for Movistar Riders began with confident victories over Stjernemix (16: 0), 4glory Esports (16: 8) and Dziurawa Skarpeta (16: 8), until the Spaniards experienced their first problems in the game with HAVU. But here Movistar Riders turned out to be luckier than the Finns, who were unable to prove themselves in overtime. As a result, the Spanish team continued their tournament adventure with a confident victory over ONYX (16: 7) in order to defeat cowana Gaming (2: 0) in the decisive match.

The 14 remaining teams that will participate in the closed qualifiers for IEM Fall 2021 Europe will be determined by invitations, while the remaining four places will be played in the remaining open qualifiers, which will take place on September 4-5 and 9-10, respectively.
