The MongolZ eliminated GamerLegion with a 2–0 sweep in the Esports World Cup 2025 Round of 16. The Mongolian squad won 13–7 on Overpass and 13–3 on Inferno, led by Garidmagnai “bLitz” Byambasuren, who earned MVP with a 39–23 K/D and 1.68 rating. Usukhbayar “910” Banzragch and Sodbayar “Techno” Munkhbold also delivered strong performances. GamerLegion fought hard, with Fredrik “REZ” Sterner posting the highest numbers on his side, but it was not enough. The MongolZ move forward to face 3DMAX in the quarterfinals, while GamerLegion finishes 9–16th, collecting $20,000.

Map 1 – Overpass (13:7 The MongolZ)

GamerLegion picked Overpass but could not convert. The first half ended 7–5 in favor of The MongolZ, with Techno and bLitz leading the charge. The second half was one-sided, closing 6–2 for The MongolZ. REZ stood out with a 4K defense on A site, while Kursy delivered a 1v2 post-plant clutch to keep GamerLegion alive. However, bLitz’s consistent multi-kills and Techno’s 100+ ADR carried their team over the finish line.

Map 2 – Inferno (13:3 The MongolZ)

Inferno, The MongolZ’s pick, was complete domination. They stormed to a 10–2 halftime lead, with Ayush “mzinho” Batbold pulling off back-to-back 1v3 clutches in early rounds. The second half saw no recovery for GamerLegion, as the Mongolian side closed out quickly with a 3–1 run. bLitz and 910 combined for 65 kills across the series, sealing the win with authority.

With this win, The MongolZ advance to the quarterfinals, where they will face 3DMAX, who upset Natus Vincere earlier in the day. GamerLegion is eliminated in the Round of 16, joining Na’Vi, Astralis, Liquid, Spirit, and FaZe among the early exits.
