Add as a Preferred Source

A major CS2 update was released on July 29, 2025, marking the beginning of the transition to the new animation system AnimGraph2. This overhaul brings fully reworked first-person animations — including weapon draw, firing, reload, and inspect. Even the chicken animations have been updated.

Gameplay Changes:

  • Improved damage prediction when shooting while moving.
  • Shotgun reloads no longer resume automatically after being interrupted.
  • Fixed several cases where players could get stuck on map geometry while surfing.

Audio Updates:

  • Fixed an issue with individual player voice volume settings not applying properly.
  • Improved weapon reload and draw sounds to match the new animation system.
  • Added new speed-sensitive sound effects for surfing (enabled via sv_surf_sounds, volume controlled with snd_surf_volume_*).
  • Enhanced ambient audio support for community map creators.

Miscellaneous:

  • The Community Server Browser will now open via the Steam Overlay when playing in fullscreen exclusive mode.
