At the ongoing major tier-1 tournament ESL Pro League Season 20, a new record was set in Counter-Strike 2 for the longest map, which lasted 71 rounds. The match took place between Fnatic and M80.

Details of the Longest CS2 Match

On the first map of the series between Fnatic and M80, a rare event occurred as the teams played 71 rounds to determine the winner. This took place on the map Anubis, which was M80's pick. In regular time, the first half ended in a 6:6 tie, and after the sides switched, M80 couldn't close out the game from the stronger side, leading to overtime. In overtime, the teams struggled to decide the victor for an extended period, but the map eventually concluded in favor of M80 with a score of 37:34.

The second map of the series also saw overtime. Despite Fnatic leading 11:5 on the stronger side, M80 managed to bring the game to overtime and win.

The previous record in CS2 was a 60-round match: PARIVISION vs. Aurora Gaming, 31:29 on Ancient (ESL Challenger League S46).
