Monte's Battle Plan: Overcoming Setbacks with Stand-in Gizmy in PGL Major Copenhagen RMR
Bogdan LashchenkoSergey "lmbt" Bezhanov, the coach of Monte's CS:GO team, has disclosed that Viktor "sdy" Orudzhev is currently unwell and will be unable to participate in at least the initial day of the PGL Major Copenhagen Europe RMR B. As a substitute, Jack "Gizmy" von Spreckelsen from Monte Gen is set to step in.
Lmbt clarified in the announcement that Gizmy's inclusion is dependent on sdy's health, and the Ukrainian rifler will make a comeback as soon as he recovers.
Sdy played a pivotal role in Monte's recent endeavors, particularly standing out with a remarkable 1.36 average rating at ESL Challenger Jönköping, contributing to the team's first-place finish and earning him his first MVP accolade. Following this success, sdy continued to perform well with a team-leading 1.28 rating, leading Monte to a semi-final finish at ESL Challenger Atlanta.
Aside from the impact on firepower, sdy's prolonged absence will pose a significant challenge to Monte's communication dynamics. Acting as the secondary shot-caller behind in-game leader Volodymyr "Woro2k" Veletniuk, the team will need to adapt to fill the void left by sdy's absence.
Gizmy, a 19-year-old British player from Monte Gen, will be stepping in for sdy. Although this is not his first RMR outing, as Gizmy previously participated in BLAST.tv Paris Major Europe RMR A with Viperio, where they faced tough competition against fnatic and Sprout.
Gizmy has spent the last six months competing with Monte Gen and previously with The Prodigies, displaying potential with a notable 1.31 average rating in the recent United21 League Season 10, standing out amidst a 1.04 average rating over the past six months.
Monte's first match in the second Europe RMR will be against the Danish team ECSTATIC, who have been on the rise after finishing as runners-up in European Pro League Season 13.
Monte's lineup for the RMR includes:
- Volodymyr "Woro2k" Veletniuk (Ukraine)
- Sergiy "DemQQ" Demchenko (Ukraine)
- Szymon "kRaSnaL" Mrozek (Poland)
- Alexander "br0" Bro (Denmark)
- Jack "Gizmy" von Spreckelsen (United Kingdom)
Sergey "lmbt" Bezhanov will continue as the coach.
