Mongolian Team Secures Spot in BLAST Premier Qualifier's Americas/Rest of the World Bracket

The Mongolian esports team, known as TheMongolz, is set to compete in the upcoming BLAST Premier qualifier, finding their place within the Americas/rest of the world bracket. Following their victory in the 5E Arena Asia Cup Fall qualifier, TheMongolz will vie for a coveted spot in the BLAST Premier Fall Final, navigating through the notoriously competitive BLAST Premier Fall Showdown qualifier.

Despite a recent setback in failing to qualify for IEM Sydney, where they were bested by both 5yclone and Lynn Vision in the Asian qualifier, TheMongolz quickly rebounded. The team's lone loss in this latest endeavor was once again to 5yclone during the group stage. However, they managed to rectify this earlier misstep during the playoffs.

Guided by Garidmagnai "bLitz" Byambasuren, TheMongolz faced their fellow countrymen in the first round of the four-team playoff. A challenging start saw them drop the initial map in the series, but they rallied to secure consecutive overtime victories, ultimately advancing.

In a captivating grand final, TheMongolz turned the tables on 5yclone. The team tactically secured Inferno, a map favored by their Chinese rivals, in a hard-fought 30-round match. Their dominance continued on Overpass, where they secured a resounding 16-3 victory.

Notably, despite not having the highest-rated individual players, the combined efforts of bLitz, Sodbayar "Techno" Munkhbold and Usukhbayar "910" Banzragch led to impressive performances, each achieving ratings over 1.10 throughout the online event.

The upcoming 16-team BLAST Premier Fall Final qualifier, scheduled for October 4-8, will be split into two eight-team brackets. The winners of each bracket will earn coveted spots in the main event. TheMongolz are fortunate to avoid facing G2 and Liquid, who have been seeded in the European playoff. Instead, they are poised to compete against teams from the rest of the world, predominantly hailing from the Americas.
