FaZe Clan beat Team Spirit at the start of IEM Katowice 2023
FaZe Clan defeated Team Spirit 2:0 at the start of the group stage of IEM Katowice 2023. Thanks to this victory, RobbaN's wards reached the semi-finals of group A, where they will meet G2 Esports tomorrow. In turn, the Russian team fell into the lower bracket, where they will play with BIG for the right to stay in the championship.
The third match within group A started on the Ancient map, which became the choice of "dragons". However, FaZe Clan was clearly happy with such a development of events, as they immediately took control of the game and began to extinguish the opponent. In turn, Team Spirit could not come up with anything in the attack, having received a natural defeat - 12:3. After the side switch, the "dragons" failed to get involved in the fight, while the FaZe Clan players confidently reached the rounds in the attack and took the lead in the series - 16:6.
Next, the teams moved to the Nuke map, which turned out to be the choice of FaZe Clan. Initially, the teams exchanged rounds, but in the equator of the first half, the "dragons" were able to find their game to close the half in defense with a comfortable advantage - 9:6. After the side switch, the game became equal, but FaZe Clan gradually closed the gap, taking a series of rounds. At the same time, the ideas of Team Spirit stopped working, allowing the European team to secure the final victory — 16:12.
