The starting pairs of the Play-In stage at IEM Katowice 2023 are presented

Tournament operator ESL has presented the schedule and starting pairs of the Play-In stage of the upcoming IEM Katowice 2023. Among the interesting pairs, there was a place for the OG vs Sprout match, which can go to the lower bracket already in the first round of the competition.

  • Cloud9 - IHC Esports

Recall that according to the results of the Play-In stage, eight teams will advance to the group stage, where they will join the assigned participants: FaZe Clan, Team Vitality, Outsiders, Heroic, Team Liquid, NAVI, G2 Esports and MOUZ.

It is reported that IEM Katowice 2023 - Play-In will be held from February 1 to 3. Thus, the organizers limited the start of the event to one day.

The opening matches of the Play-In stage will be held in the BO1 format, and all remaining matches will be in BO3. Each team will have two chances to qualify for the IEM Katowice 2023 group stage. However, the teams that advance further from the lower bracket will receive the worst seed in the group.

The organizers also presented the first results of the IEM Katowice 2023 group stage draw. Group A includes NAVI, Team Liquid, FaZe Clan, and G2 Esports, while Group B will include Heroic, Team Vitality, Outsiders, and MOUZ.

IEM Katowice 2023 will take place from 1 to 12 February in Katowice at the Spodek Arena. As part of the championship, 24 teams from the CIS, Europe, North and Latin America, Asia and Oceania will compete for a total prize pool of $1,000,000, as well as a ticket to IEM Cologne 2023 for the winner.
