The Cloud9 team turned out to be stronger than Heroic with a score of 2:0, thanks to which they made it to the playoffs of IEM Rio Major 2022. Now the Russian team has received two additional days of respite in order to better prepare for the start of the quarterfinals. In turn, Heroic will go to the fourth round of the Legends stage, where they will once again try to reach the playoffs.

The first showdown for a playoff slot started on the Vertigo map, which turned out to be Cloud9's pick. At the same time, the wards of groove showed such a confident start in the attack that they instantly killed the intrigue and ran far ahead. And yet, the Danes managed to wake up in the end to get four rounds - 11:4. After switching sides, Heroic tried to return to the fight, but the level difference was too significant. As a result, Cloud9 confidently closed their own pick and took the lead in the series — 16:9.

Next, the teams moved to the map Inferno, which became the choice of Heroic. Here, the fight turned out to be much more intense, as the Danish team showed a good attack and even gained a minimal advantage before switching sides - 8:7. However, only one team played on the server in the second half, and it turned out to be Cloud9. As a result, the already wards of groove showed their attack in order to declass Heroic and get into the playoffs of IEM Rio Major 2022 — 16:9.

Recall that the Cloud9 team started the championship with two defeats, after which they managed not only to break into the “legends”, but also to reach the quarterfinals first.

IEM Rio Major 2022 takes place from October 31 to November 13 in Brazil at the Jeunesse Arena and at the Riocentro convention center. As part of the championship, 24 teams from the CIS, Europe, North and South America, and Asia are fighting for a total prize pool of $1,250,000, ranking points in the BLAST Premier table, as well as tickets to BLAST Premier: World Final 2022 and IEM Katowice 2023 for the winner.
