ESL Unveils IEM Road to Rio 2022 Public Broadcasting Rules

Tournament operator ESL has released the official set of rules for the public broadcast of IEM Road to Rio 2022. These conditions apply to all four RMR tournaments for Europe, America and Asia.

The organizers will not restrict the community in terms of rebroadcasting matches. However, for this, one essential condition must be met - the non-commercial nature of the broadcasts. Community members cannot charge users for viewing or accessing content. In addition, you may not sell or license recordings to others for any fee.

Streamers can access the match to freely watch or use data from the Observer under the following conditions:

  • Lack of sponsors and brand advertising during broadcasts.
  • Any players/coaches/persons currently banned by Valve are not allowed to participate in any non-commercial broadcasts.
  • The broadcast title should follow the standard format: "Full event name - Team A vs. Team B", for example, "IEM Road to Rio - Astralis vs. NiP".
  • The Twitch channel of the broadcast must include an info box that links to the main broadcast of the event.
  • Content creators are only allowed to stream after receiving GOTV. It is strictly forbidden to rebroadcast any official broadcasts in any language.
  • The broadcast must create a positive and inclusive environment by ensuring that the chat is properly moderated and that the audience is aware that any opinions and thoughts expressed are not represented by ESL.

At the same time, the organizers reserve the right to block any broadcasts that violate the above rules.
