Virtus.pro spoke about the exclusion of the youth team from WePlay Academy League Season 4

The Russian esports organization Virtus.pro spoke about the exclusion of the youth team from the WePlay Academy League Season 4. Recall that the day before, the tournament operator WePlay Esports decided to exclude the Outlaws team from the list of participants.

Today we learned that our roster VP.Prodigy was removed by the organizers from WePlay Academy League Season 4, where he was supposed to play under the name Outlaws. This event has two aspects: legal and image.

From a legal point of view, WePlay grossly violates contractual obligations - this company does not have the right to unilaterally terminate the agreement on our participation in their league. The notice of termination of the contract, which WePlay sent to the club's management today, is legally illiterate: it appeals to an inapplicable clause of the contract (about our violation of guarantees that we are not under sanctions) and proposes to consider February 26 as the date of termination.

Moreover, just yesterday, WePlay publicly stated that "none of the members of the roster are subject to personal international and state sanctions lists for their activities." Similarly, the legal entity Virtus.pro is not subject to sanctions. Therefore, WePlay has no legal grounds to terminate the contract and remove us from the tournament.

From an image point of view, we would like to draw the attention of the community to the difference in what this company claims publicly and what it is guided by in reality.

WePlay wrote on their social networks: "Our company does not have any contracts with organizations from the Russian Federation, therefore we exclude Outlaws." This is not true and the company understands this well, therefore, in the notice of termination of the contract, it refers to mythical sanctions.

We also suggest taking another look at the composition of the WePlay Academy League Season 4 participants and fixing the fact that WePlay does not cooperate with organizations from the Russian Federation only in words, in fact, it is guided in its decisions by personal likes and dislikes.

WePlay Academy League Season 4 will be held online from May 24 to June 26. Fourteen youth teams will compete for a $100,000 prize pool.
