Miracles at the IESF World Esports Championship in Israel
Yesterday in the Israeli city of Eilat, the thirteenth World Cybersport Championship held by the IESF started. 11 teams are fighting for a prize pool of $ 20,000 and the title of IESF World Champion in CSGO.
Interesting moments in the championship began immediately after its start. The Slovak national team, which made it to the tournament through the Wild Card, but then something went wrong.
One of the players of the national team passed a positive test for COVID-19 and was unable to visit the event venue. What is much more interesting, even during the qualification, in Slovakia, among all the fans, they raffled off a ticket to this very World Championship.
The lucky winner of the trip to Eilat replaced the sick player on the team and made his tournament debut against North Macedonia. During the game, he made 22 keels, finishing second in frags in the team, and thus Team Slovakia beat the rivals with a score of 16-14.
This victory helped the Slovaks advance to the playoffs, where they again played against the Macedonians, but this time they lost to them with a score of 1-2. At the bottom, the Slovak national team is to meet with Espors Club Kiev.
