Who Is The Strongest LoL Champion According To Arcane Lore

Let’s start by saying that League of Legends is a fantastic game. It’s not only one of the oldest and most successful MOBA games in the gaming market but also a top-tier product for players. Riot Games consistently work on the game, creating content for it beyond the PC platform. Of course, we’re talking about one of the best animated series ever created—Arcane.

On November 23, the Arcane finale was released on Netflix, marking the conclusion of a vibrant, deep, and fresh story about League of Legends characters well-known to all players. We saw Jinx, Vi, Warwick, Jayce, Viktor, and other champions from a different perspective, and we owe thanks for this to Riot Games and Fortiche Studio, who brought Arcane to life.

Still reeling from the emotional impressions of the Arcane finale, we decided to imagine how a ranking of the strongest LoL champions would look if it were based on Arcane lore and its storyline. Let’s dive in.

10. Heimerdinger

At the bottom of our ranking of the strongest LoL champions according to Arcane lore is Heimerdinger. This brilliant scientist from Piltover plays a significant role in the series’ storyline, but he can hardly boast of his strength and powerful abilities. Frankly, if LoL’s Heimerdinger were like the one shown in Arcane, he’d struggle to compete with most champions in Runeterra.

Ultimately, Heimerdinger’s strength in Arcane isn’t in magic or explosive inventions (as in League). His strength and importance lie in his intellect and mentorship skills. He played a crucial role in shaping Ekko and Jayce in Arcane. So, despite having limited screen time in Arcane Season 2, he remains an incredibly significant character.

9. Singed

Next to last in our improvised ranking of the strongest LoL champions according to Arcane lore is another genius scientist—Singed. Once a royal alchemist, he chose a slippery path that led him to the grim districts of Zaun. His knowledge earned him high respect in the criminal underworld of the Undercity, which isn’t surprising. His methods produced terrifying creations, but his motivation, as is often the case, was far from terrifying. Everything Singed did, he did for his daughter Orianna, whom he managed to bring back to life, albeit in a doll-like form.

In combat, according to Arcane lore, Singed can do little on his own against his potential opponents. He must rely solely on his "inventions" and the results of his "experiments," which isn’t exactly the best option.

8. Caitlyn

In 8th place on our list of the strongest LoL champions according to Arcane lore is one of the series’ central characters—Caitlyn. The sheriff of Piltover in League of Legends, Caitlyn Kiramman in Arcane managed to play the roles of sheriff, enforcer, commander, and even “traitor.” Caitlyn received significant screen time, and in Arcane Season 2, she even became one of the main characters.

Caitlyn’s skills with firearms enhanced by Hextech make her a formidable opponent. However, at close range, she faces challenges, which isn’t surprising since she lacks the enhancements of Shimmer or Arcane, which are common among the characters in Arcane. Nevertheless, she has plenty to offer her adversaries.

7. Vi

Next in our ranking of the strongest LoL champions according to Arcane lore is Caitlyn’s partner—Vi. One of the main protagonists and Jinx’s sister, Vi is very strong in the series. Her Hextech-enhanced combat gauntlets, inherited from her father Vander, can break most characters (in every sense of the word). However, like Caitlyn, she is an ordinary human, though her physical form is enviable even by Runeterra’s strongest warriors.

6. Jayce

At the midpoint of our ranking of the strongest LoL champions according to Arcane lore is Jayce. In fact, he almost shares 5th place with Vi because, in terms of strength and storyline, they are nearly equal. Like Vi, Jayce uses a modified Hextech hammer in combat. As with anything Hextech-related, this hammer can deal substantial damage to his opponents.

Additionally, Jayce’s resilience deserves mention. Surviving an anomaly and resisting Arcane’s influence highlight his endurance.

5. Ambessa Medarda

Next is one of the central and most undeservedly “underutilized” characters in Arcane, and now a playable LoL champion—Ambessa Medarda. Those who have already watched Arcane Season 2 understand why Ambessa is described as “underutilized.”

This character appeared at the end of the first season of the animated series with immense potential for development in the second. Fortiche partially realized this potential by portraying Ambessa as a master of intrigue, but it felt insufficient. Still, we’re discussing the strongest champions, not Arcane plotlines, and in terms of strength, Ambessa is undeniably one of the strongest characters.

As the Matriarch of War and leader of one of Noxus’s influential clans, she is anything but weak. Years of political intrigue and danger in Noxus sharpened her mind, while constant battles and wars strengthened her as a warrior. The result is an incredibly powerful fighter who relies not only on muscle but also on intelligence.

4. Jinx

A ranking of the strongest LoL champions based on Arcane lore would be incomplete without Jinx, a central character in the first season of Arcane and one of the main characters in the second. Unsurprisingly, Jinx is incredibly strong.

After her near-death experience in the first season, Jinx was infused with Shimmer to save her life, granting her supernatural abilities. Beyond that, Jinx is a brilliant mechanic and technician, capable of creating deadly inventions. Combined with her incredible agility (enhanced by Shimmer), Jinx becomes one of the deadliest and most resilient characters in both LoL and Arcane.

3. Ekko

Opening the top 3 in the ranking of the strongest LoL champions based on Arcane lore is the “boy savior,” Ekko. Despite his unassuming appearance, Ekko’s strength is undeniable. Like Jayce, he is a brilliant inventor.

As a fighter, he may be weaker than Vi, Ambessa, Jayce, or Jinx. However, Ekko has a unique edge—time manipulation. It’s hard to imagine anything more powerful than controlling time, and Ekko masters this science. Yet, his time-rewinding ability is limited to four seconds, which can be insufficient against some characters.

2. Warwick

Second place goes to Warwick, Singed’s creation, based on the former Zaun leader Vander. Warwick possesses incredible strength, speed, endurance, pain tolerance, and regeneration that surpasses all others.

In Arcane Season 2, Warwick is essentially a mobile biological weapon. Even Ambessa Medarda, an experienced and powerful warrior, couldn’t withstand the primal fury of this werewolf. At that point, Warwick wasn’t even at his peak, which we witnessed in Episode 6 of Arcane when he unleashed his full potential.

1. Viktor

Unsurprisingly, Viktor claims the top spot in this ranking. By the end of Episode 8 of Arcane Season 2, Viktor completes his Glorious Evolution.

In the second season, Viktor is truly invincible. His mind-control abilities and other powers leave no chance for anyone on the battlefield. The fact that Ekko managed to partially stop Viktor in the finale was only because Viktor allowed it. We saw in the alternate reality where Jayce ended up after interacting with the anomaly that Viktor successfully implemented a global Glorious Evolution, turning all living beings into a “unified mind” devoid of desires or will.

Incidentally, Viktor will soon receive a VGU in LoL. Who knows, perhaps he will partially resemble his “ultimate form” from the series in the game.
