Twelve teams will be competing, four from Europe, three from Asia and America and two from China. The regional champions (as well as the finalist from the European competition) will start their campaign from the quarter-finals, while eight teams will compete in Tokyo in the group stage.

The main favorites for the championship will be European teams Fnatic and Natus Vincere. In addition, traditionally strong Brazilian LOUD, who along with NRG, DRX and Team Liquid can compete with the favorites. Also not to be discounted is Paper Rex, who have shown excellent results in the regional league.
Format of the VALORANT Champions Tour 2023 - Masters Tokyo
The tournament will start with group stage (June 11-14), which will be played in GSL format. All matches will be played in a two-ball format (BO3). The top two teams from each quartet will advance to the play-offs.
The top teams of the group stage will be paired with the winners of the regional leagues. The play-offs of the tournament will take place in a Double-Elimination grid format. All play-offs (16-25 June) will be played in BO3, except lower net final and grand final - they will be played in BO5.
