All CS:GO fans and those who have heard about the game a few times know that teams play no more than 30 rounds or even less in most cases. However, things do not always go this way. Today, we present to your attention the compilation of the matches, in which the longest maps in terms of the number of rounds were played, in official CS:GO matches.
The 12th place: 58 rounds
2 matches held the 12th place.
myKPV vs Mouz - de_dust2 - August 26, 2015 - 99Damage League Season 1
myKPV vs Mouz (0:2):
- Dust2: 27 : 31 (58)
- Cache: 7 : 16 (23)
- Total rounds: 81
The top 12 longest matches are opened by the matches between myKPV and MOUZ, hosted in 99Damage League Season 1. The teams demonstrated a nice play and the relentless character on the map Dust 2, which was the first one in this match. The first half of the match was over with a score of 8-7 in the favor of myKPV and since the moment, it became clear that the match was promising to be tough and equal. Well, and that’s what happened. The teams used one series of additional rounds but it was not enough and they had to take six more rounds to determine the winner. But then there was six more and more, and more. MOUZ managed to beat their opponents only in the fifth overtime series and finish the battle on Dust 2 with a score of 31-27 in its favor. MOUZ continued finishing the started business on the second map and defeated their opponents and prevailed in the match, as a result. At the moment, NiKo, who would be called one of the best CS:GO players late, and the German legionnaire gob b, who did not finish his career at that moment, was playing in the ranks of MOUZ.
LDLC vs iBUYPOWER - de_inferno - October 25, 2014 - FACEIT League Season 2 Final
LDLC vs iBUYPOWER (0:2):
- Overpass: 16 : 14 (30)
- Cache: 31 : 26 (58)
- Total rounds: 88
We can definitely call the carnage between LDLC and iBUYPOWER a more interesting match among the ones that lasted 58 rounds. Everything about this match is interesting, starting from the lineup of participants of the match and finishing with the situation the match created at the tournament. The top CS:GO players of that time were gathered in the match at FACEIT League Season 2 Finals in 2014: shox, Happy, SmithZz, NBK-, and kioShiMa were playing under the tag LDLC, while they were opposed by AZK, DaZeD, swag, steel, and Skadoodle from iBUYPOWER. By the way, this match was a semi-final and determined the finalist of the event, which prize pool amounted to $50,000.
The hard battle between LDLC and iBUYPOWER took place on the first map, which was Inferno. Unlike the previously told story about the fight between MOUZ and myKPV, the match between LDLC vs iBUYPOWER was not so controversial at first. The first half was over with a score of 12-3 in the favor of the Americans. After switching to the defense side, shox with his teammates managed to make an incredible comeback and made the match even. Then, just like in the case of MOUZ vs myKPV, the teams used five series of additional rounds to decide the winner, and, being two steps away from 60 rounds, the team finished their battle. IBUYPOWER achieved victory over LDLC with a score of 31-27 and made it to the grand final of FACEIT League Season 2 Finals. By the way, this championship was over for iBUYPOWER with the second place. They were not able to defeat Fnatic in the final and earned $10,000. However, the semi-final of FACEIT League Season 2 Finals entered CS:GO history forever.

Astralis vs NRG - de_train - August 30, 2019 - StarLadder Major Berlin 2019
Astralis vs NRG (0:2):
- Train: 28 : 31 (59)
- Nuke: 4 : 16 (20)
- Total rounds: 79
A very interesting match was hosted at the Major tournament in 2019, StarLadder Major Berlin 2019. The serious battle took place in the group stage, which was organized by the Swiss system. The teams fought in the upper matches of the third round for the right to become the first participant of the playoffs of the Major tournament with the prize pool of $1,000,000. The participants were competing for this right till the end and this championship probably was the last one or one of the last ones, at which NRG Esports still had a big impact on the world CS:GO scene, so this match was especially interesting.
The match began on Train where something unexpected, long, pretty intriguing, and tiring happened. Astralis started the match on the defense side and was not able to win more than 5 rounds. After pushing hard on their opponents, NRG Esports moved to the defense side and also did not win six rounds. Astralis made the map even and a long battle has started. The teams were not able to determine the winner on Train during four series of additional rounds. The teams managed to enter the final round only in the sixth overtime. Astralis were good and prevailed in 28 rounds but it was not enough to put a period. On the second map, which was Nuke, NRG suddenly defeated the Danes who were considered to be the kings of the map. The remarkable thing is that gla1ve with his teammates achieved victory only in 4 rounds. By the way, the Danes prevailed at StarLadder Major Berlin 2019 and Astralis beat NRG in the semi-final of the tournament with a score of 2-0, having lost less than 10 rounds on every map.
Gambit vs NaVi - de_inferno - December 01, 2017 - DreamHack Open Winter 2017
Gambit vs NaVi (1:0):
- Inferno: 31 : 28 (59)
Gambit Esports and Natus Vincere brought their fans a pretty unforgettable memory at DreamHack Open Winter 2017 at the end of 2017. This CIS derby was difficult to watch without a dose of valerian because the intrigue and pressure were holding till the very end. What did teams and viewers expect from this Bo1 match, which decided the first participant of the playoff stage? A quick match on one map, which would show who had to continue the road in the playoffs and who used the right to make a mistake and would make the second attempt in the loser’s match. And what have we got? A very long match, which gets ahead of a lot of bo3 matches in terms of duration. The teams decided that they would play on Inferno.
Gambit Esports began on the defense side. Natus Vincere started with good pressure and pushed their countrymen so hard that Hobbit and his teammates were not able to win more than 5 rounds. Gambit did not lose control and managed to demonstrate a nice attack, just like NAVI. It allowed the team to make the match even and bring it to overtime. As in all the above-mentioned long matches, the participants of the match determined the winner only in the fifth series of additional rounds. Gambit Esports achieved victory over Natus Vincere with a score of 31-28 and became the first participant of the playoffs, NAVI had to fight for the second time for its opportunity to proceed to the final stage of the event. “The Born to Win” managed not just to advance to the playoffs but to prevail at the championship with the prize pool of $100,000. Gambit, in turn, placed 3rd-4th, having lost the battle to MOUZ.

Astralis vs Cr4zy - de_dust2 - August 31, 2019 - StarLadder Major Berlin 2019
Astralis vs Cr4zy (2:1):
- Inferno: 16 : 11 (27)
- Dust2: 29 : 31 (60)
- Vertigo: 16 : 5 (21)
- Total rounds: 108
Another match with a big number of rounds took place at StarLadder Major Berlin 2019. This tournament was pretty intense, which was noticed by Astralis and CR4ZY in the fourth round of the group stage, which, it should be recalled, was hosted by the Swiss system. The first map passed without adventures but the second one, which was Dust 2, hosted a very long battle, during which CR4ZY and Astralis tried to achieve victory. The match was pretty important because its winner had to proceed to the playoffs.
CR4ZY began the battle on Dust 2 on the attack side. HuNter- with his teammates managed to prevail in 9 rounds, however, after switching sides, Astralis showed that they were also playing well on offense. Gla1ve with his teammates made the match even, after which the most interesting part started. First, the teams used the first series of additional rounds to decide the winner but things went wrong and they had to move to the second overtime. The outcome was similar. The third and fourth series of additional rounds were also even. CR4ZY managed to turn the fifth overtime in its favor and the team achieved victory on the map with a score of 31-29. Nemanja 'huNter-' Kovač breathed a sigh of relief and went on to Vertigo. However, Astralis lost only 5 rounds against CR4ZY there and advanced to the playoffs, having left the last ones to play the fifth round of the group stage. CR4ZY was not able to beat NAVI in the match for a slot in the playoffs but Astralis, as we already know, made it to the very end and prevailed at the tournament.
GamerLegion vs Virtus.pro - de_train - June 11, 2019 - Europe Minor Closed Qualifier - StarLadder Major 2019
GamerLegion vs Virtus.pro (0:2):
- Inferno: 8 : 16 (24)
- Train: 29 : 31 (60)
- Total rounds: 84
Although not directly, this match is related to StarLadder Major Berlin 2019. This time, we have a match, which was hosted in the closed qualifiers to the European Minor tournament, which allowed teams to proceed to the second Major championship of 2019. GamerLegion and Virtus.pro faced in the first round of the lower bracket. The match was very important because, in fact, the losing participant of the match was leaving without an opportunity to make it to The Europe Minor — StarLadder Major 2019 and the Major tournament itself. The first map was Inferno where VP prevailed with a score of 16-8. It passed without a long fight but Train, which was the second battlefield, brought lots of troubles both to the participants of the match and all other people who were working on the match or watching it.
Virtus.pro started playing as an offense and won 9 rounds. After the victory on Inferno, they were close to eliminating the players from GamerLegion and moving one step closer to their dream. ScreaM and his battle mates from GL engaged in a process quickly and began making a comeback. They made the score 15-15 and went to play overtime. As a result, Virtus.pro and GamerLegion were competing so hard that they doubled the match duration and played 60 rounds instead of basic 30. Such a turn of events exhausted all and GamerLegion made serious mistakes faster, which led to their loss. Virtus.pro achieved victory in this match but as a result, they held the 9th-12th place in the standings of the closed qualifiers to the second European Minor of 2019. This result was so disappointing that the management of Virtus.pro disbanded the Polish roster and signed the vice-champions of StarLadder Berlin Major 2019 who had been playing under the tag AVANGAR.

The 9th place: 64 rounds, ARCY vs AGO - de_dust2 - December 11, 2019 - EM Katowice 2020 Europe Open Qualifier 1
ARCY vs AGO Esports (0:1):
- Dust2: 34 : 31 (65)
The memorable match with the participation of ARCY and AGO Esports holds the ninth place. The Polish battle brought problems to problems, casters, and regular viewers. The match was held in the open European qualification to Intel Extreme Masters Katowice 2020. The match was organized in a Bo1 format and Dust 2 was the map, on which the teams had a long series. ARCY started the fight on defense and won 10 rounds in the first half. After switching sides, AGO Esports as defense managed to take the necessary rounds against their opponents and made the match even. The teams played 30 more rounds, which is twice longer than a standard match but it was not enough to decide the winner of the match. The teams were not able to find out who deserved the victory more even during the fifth series of additional rounds. Only in the sixth overtime, ARCY managed to make the four-round advantage over their opponents and finish this match with a result of 34-30.
This course of events helped ARCY to make it to the top 2 and guarantee itself a slot in the closed qualifiers to Intel Extreme Masters Katowice 2020, so their efforts were worth it. However, they were way less lucky in the closed qualifiers, and they placed 7th-8th out of 8, so their road to IEM Katowice 2020 was over.
The 8th place: 65 rounds, Heroic vs Envy - de_mirage - September 16, 2016 - DreamHack ZOWIE Open Bucharest 2016
Heroic vs Envy (0:1):
- Mirage: 34 : 31 (65)
The match Heroic vs Team Envy at DreamHack ZOWIE Open Bucharest 2016 places eighth. This match decided almost nothing because it was their debut in the group stage. According to the participants of the match, it was decided to play on Mirage. Heroic began the battle very well there. They managed to win 13 rounds against their opponents in the first half, playing on defense. After switching sides, Envy did not just try to make a comeback but they realized it, however, they were not able to achieve victory in less than 30 rounds. The team made the score of 15-15 on the scoreboard and the match entered the overtime phase.
The match was pretty long and the teams determined the winner only in the sixth series of additional rounds. Heroic managed to finish the business. They definitely allowed Envy to make a comeback, however, they appeared to be the winners of the match, as a result, and the match was over with a score of 34-31 in their favor. Despite such a passion, Heroic lasted not that long and held the 5th-6th place in the tournament standings, having earned $3,000. Having lost the debut match of the tournament, Envy achieved bigger things than the Danes and placed 3rd-4th and made $10,000.
The 7th place: 66 rounds
3 matches held the 7th place at once
Cloud9 vs NaVi - de_train - July 04, 2017 - ESL One Cologne 2017
Cloud9 vs NaVi (0:1):
- Train: 32 : 34 (66)
The match with the participation of Cloud9 and Natus Vincere holds the 7th place. The remarkable thing is that at that moment, C9 included the esportsmen with whom many CS:GO fans associate the tag Cloud9. We are talking about autimatic, Skadoodle, Stewie2K, n0thing, and obviously shroud. The teams faced each other in a tough battle at ESL One Cologne 2017. The teams played in the second round of the group stage, which was hosted by the Swiss system. Despite the match determining a few things, the teams were fighting till the very end. The rosters decided to play on Train.
Natus Vincere started the first half of the battle as an offensive side. They managed to realize their potential nine times, so the first half was over with a result of 9-6. After switching sides, NAVI began playing on defense and performed not that well as in the first half. Cloud9 successfully made a comeback and the match even, which allowed them to compete for the victory on Train a few more rounds. Natus Vincere also was not going to give up without a fight and was fighting as hard as they could. First, the teams were not able to decide the winner during the first and second overtime series, but then three series of additional rounds did not help them either. Only in the sixth overtime, the team was determined, which could be called the winner of the match. Natus Vincere managed to turn events in its favor and finished the battle with a score of 34-32. The victory after 66 rounds allowed the team to get away from its elimination from the tournament, while Cloud9 had to fight for the right to participate in the event in the following match.
It is worth noticing that the team faced one more time but in the semi-final of the tournament, Then, Cloud9 managed to prepare better for the bo3 match against “The Born to Win” and prevailed in the match against NAVI with a score of 2-0 and held the 2nd place in the tournament.
Furia vs Fnatic - de_overpass - October 03, 2019 - DreamHack Masters Malmö 2019
Furia vs Fnatic (0:2):
- Overpass: 32 : 34 (66)
- Inferno: 5 : 16 (21)
- Total rounds: 87
Another map with 66 rounds was played at the big CS:GO championship with the prize pool of $250,000, DreamHack Masters Malmo 2019, two years later. FURIA Esports and Fnatic fought in the final of the lower bracket. A quarterfinal slot was on the line and the losing participant of the match had to leave the event and continue following it as a regular viewer. The big fight happened literally on the first map, which showed that both participants really wanted to proceed to the playoffs and win this championship.
The events took place on the map Overpass. The Brazilians from FURIA started the match on the offensive side. They managed to find a weak spot in Fnatic’s defense ten times and finish the first half of the map with a score of 10-5. After switching sides, the Swedes from Fnatic achieved the same success. So they made the score even and started a long series of additional rounds, which exceeded the number of standard rounds. The winner was determined only in the sixth overtime and Fnatic prevailed with a score of 34-32. Fnatic achieved victory on the next map with a score of 16-5. The victory allowed the Swedish team to advance to the playoffs and continue its road at the tournament, while the participation of FURIA came to its end.
FURIA Esports held the 7th-8th place at the tournament but the players of Fnatic reached the very end and held the cup above their heads. Then, they earned the main money reward of $100,000 and an invitation to IEM Katowice 2020 due to their victory.
Se7en vs PACT - de_nuke - September 29, 2019 - LOOT.BET Season 4
Se7en vs PACT (1 : 2):
- Dust2: 7 : 16 (23)
- Nuke: 34 : 32 (66)
- Inferno: 18 : 22 (40)
- Total rounds: 129
Unfortunately, it was impossible to find a replay or some photos regarding this match, there were only the statistics. But despite this, the ordinary match Se7en vs PACK is the longest match in CS:GO history in terms of the number of played rounds at the moment.
The 6th place: 68 rounds, Rebels vs Gambit - de_cobblestone - January 22, 2016 - SL Regional Minor Championship)
Rebels vs Gambit (0:2):
- Cobblestone: 32 : 36 (68)
- Inferno: 14 : 16 (28)
- Total rounds: 96
The longest de_cobblestone was played in the grand final of StarLadder Regional Minor Championship CIS 2016 between two CIS teams - Rebels and Gambit Esports. As in the previous case with de_cobblestone, the team playing the first half for Counter-Terrorists (Gambit Esports) finished the first 15 rounds with a score of 10-5 in its favor.
Their opponents, Rebels decided not to give up and managed to make the score 15-15, reaching the match point. The teams were deciding the winner during 38 additional rounds. As a result, Dosia with his team focused and finished their opponents in a tough battle. The map de_cobblestone was over with a score of 36-32 in the favor of Gambit Esports, having become one of the maps, on which the biggest number of rounds was played.
After de_cobblestone, Gambit Esports achieved one more victory over Rebels on the following map, de_inferno with a score of 16-14, and became the champions of the tournament, having made the final of the championship very memorable.
The 5rd place: 69 rounds, Envy vs NIP - de_dust2 - April 24, 2015 - CCS Kick-off Season Finals
Envy vs NIP (1 : 2):
- Cobblestone: 16 : 10 (26)
- Dust2: 33 : 36 (69)
- Mirage: 11 : 16 (27)
- Total rounds: 122
The longest Dust 2 was played at the $75,000 championship, CCS Kick-off Season Finals, which consisted of four participants. The event seemed short and pretty small, however, the match between Team Envy and NiP made CCS Kick-off Finals be remembered many times. It seemed that Envy and NiP met in 2015 to decide the finalist of the upper bracket and there were no signs of something special but it happened. The roster of Envy included kioShiMa, Happy, NBK-, shox, and SmithZz. F0rest, Xizt, GeT_RiGhT, friberg, and allu, who was not associated with ENCE at that moment, were playing under the tag of NiP.
The first map was played without adventures. Team Envy prevailed on Cache back then. The most interesting action took place on the second map, which was Dust 2. The first half was over with a score of 8-7 in the favor of the Frenchmen. They were playing on defense, so after switching sides, they had to create something extraordinary to stop their opponents from winning 8 rounds. NiP managed to demonstrate a good play on defense and brought the game to overtime. Six series of additional rounds did not help the teams to decide the winner and everything was solved only in the seventh overtime, the 69th round. Allu and his Swedish teammates did not agree that they had to continue their road in the lower bracket and tried hard to prevent it. The team was two steps away from losing the second map but came back and achieved victory in the match. Dust 2 they played is still the longest one and the record of 69 rounds will not be beaten for a very long time if someone ever manages to beat this result.
However, NiP achieved victory on the third map then and proceeded to the final of the upper bracket. But they held the 3rdh place out of 4 at the tournament, their result is better than Envy’s one after all. The last ones placed 4th in the standings.
The 4rd place: 71 rounds, Natus Vincere vs AGO Gaming - de_mirage - March 30, 2022 - ESL Pro League Season 15
Natus Vincere vs AGO Gaming:
- Dust 2: 16-1 (17)
- Mirage: 37-34 (71)
- Total rounds: 88
The fourth place is taken by a recent battle held between Natus Vincere and AGO Gaming at the group stage of ESL Pro League Season 15. This was a debut meeting for Group D and it had to determine what teams would have a bigger chance of entering the playoff of the 15 season of EPL. The battle could not be called hard but it must have been a great achievement for AGO to beat Natus Vincere who dominated in 2021, even though the team has changed the roster.
While the first map was beneficial for the gamers, Dust 2 helped NAVI to show an incredible domination over their opponents and ended it with the score 16-1, in case of Mirage the situation had changed dramatically. There Natus Vincere started from an attack and won 7 rounds in the first half. After the pass they played with AGO Gaming equally and 30 rounds finished with 15-15. It began an overtime series and the meeting took third place in the list of the longest matches that had ever been played in the history of the professional CS:GO. The first six series of additional rounds did not help to define the participant in the match who deserved the win and it ended only in the middle of the seventh series. The 71st round put an end to the battle after NAVI beat AGO Gaming.
The battle helped Natus Vincere to improve their chance of making it to the playoff of ESL Pro League Season 15, and AGO Gaming lost an opportunity to advance at the event at the next match against Heroic.

The 3rd place: 72 rounds, GUNRUNNERS vs eSuba - de_overpass - June 06, 2020 - Sazka eLEAGUE Spring 2020
GUNRUNNERS vs eSuba (1 : 2):
- Mirage: 16 : 13 (29)
- Train: 17 : 19 (36)
- Overpass: 35 : 37 (72)
- Total rounds: 137
The third place was well-deserved for GUNRUNNERS and eSuba who showed a spectacular battle on the third and decisive map of the previous competition at Sazka eLEAGUE Spring 2020. The teams fought for the right to pass to the final of the tournament and a chance to compete for the first place with the main reward of $6,303.
The first map (Mirage) finished with 16-13 for GUNRUNNERS, and the second one (Train) ended with 19-17 for eSuba. There the teams have already shown that they are not ready to give up easily, however, it turned out to be a childish game in comparison with the events that took place on Overpass. The last map showed that the teams play as equals. GUNRUNNERS managed to win the first half being in defense. Having taken eight rounds, they switched to attack and it was eSuba’s turn to win eight rounds. Therefore, the thirty rounds were not enough to define the winner of the competition. This is how the long series of additional rounds started. As well as in the case with the battle between Natus Vincere vs AGO Gaming, the teams lacked six series of additional rounds to understand who is the winner of the battle. The seventh one showed that this time eSuba proved their strength. The team became the second finalist and fought with SINNERS where they lost. GUNRUNNERS got $1,365 for the 3rd-4th place in the tournament bracket, and eSuba — $2,941 and it happened thanks to the won match against GUNRUNNERS.
The 2nd place: 79 rounds, DenDD vs PixelFire - de_mirage - January 30, 2016 - PGL Regional Minor Championship
DenDD vs PixelFire (0 : 2):
- Mirage: 38 : 41 (79)
- Train: 5 : 16 (21)
- Total rounds: 100
De_mirage was played in the bo3 match between DenDD and PixelFire at PGL Regional Minor Championship Europe 2016. The opponents needed 79 rounds to determine the winner of the first map. It took a bit more than two hours, which hardly ever happens in the CS:GO world.
DenDD managed to win the first half of the match with a score of 11:4, playing as counter-terrorists. The longest map played in an official match was registered during the match at ESL UK Premiership Season 1 (Spring) 2015. There was the most difficult and extremely long battle between Team XENEX and ExceL eSports on de_inferno.
The hard battle on de_inferno was the opening of the first gaming day of ESL UK Premiership. Team XENEX was playing very confidently as counter-terrorists and switched sides with their opponents, having 10 won rounds on their score. After a row of lost rounds, the British team pulled itself together and fought back, bringing the game to a match point.
Totally, there were 58 additional rounds and 88 rounds, considering the main ones, on the map. However, the teams considered it not enough and it seemed that they wanted to beat the record of the first map on the second map, having played 39 more rounds. As a result, the victory in the match was achieved by XENEX.
This match between two not really known teams entered the history of CS:GO as the match with the longest map. It will be pretty difficult to beat the record, so 88 played rounds will be the highest result in the official matches for a long time.
