Oblivion Remastered Best Early Weapons

The legendary game The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion has received a remaster and is now ready to once again win the hearts of gamers around the world. To help make your playthrough as smooth as possible—especially at the beginning of your journey—I’ve put together a list of Oblivion Remastered Best Early Weapons.
Oblivion Remastered Best Early Weapons - Umbra & Frostwyrm Bow
All of these weapons can be obtained as early as level one, and today we’ll be talking about Umbra and the Frostwyrm Bow. These two truly deserve the title of Oblivion Remastered Best Early Weapons, as they offer everything you need to kick off your adventure.
Umbra is one of the best weapons in the game and can remain useful for a long time. The Frostwyrm Bow, on the other hand, is great up until around level 19–20—right before you unlock access to glass and daedric weaponry.
Oblivion Remastered - Umbra

Let’s start with Umbra and how to find it. Its location is slightly different from the original game. Southwest of the Imperial City, you’ll find the ruins known as Vindasel. They’re very easy to reach, and you can get there right at the beginning of the game—just after escaping from the prison.

You’ll need to make your way to the ruins and carefully navigate through a trap-filled room full of poison. A small tip: stay close to the walls, or you’ll die quickly.
At the end of your short journey, you’ll meet an NPC named Umbra. She’s quite an unfriendly lady, and in the old versions of the game, she was level 50, making her very difficult to defeat. The only strategy was to lead her into the city, where the guards would take care of her.

But in this version, there’s a much easier way to handle the situation. All you need to do is temporarily set the difficulty to the lowest setting and climb up onto a column where you can attack her from a safe distance—she won’t be able to reach you. It might take some time, but you can wear her down with a bow. The most important thing is to make sure you’re still level 1 when you do this. If you level up, the game will scale the enemies accordingly, which we don’t want.
Once you defeat this hostile NPC, you’ll be able to loot the Umbra sword from her. The best part? It’s not level-scaled, meaning you can use it all the way through the game. It’s one of the most useful weapons available early on, and I highly recommend you don’t skip it.
Oblivion Remastered - Frostwyrm Bow

The next weapon that also deserves the title of Oblivion Remastered Best Early Weapon is the Frostwyrm Bow. You can find this bow in the far northeastern part of the map, at a location called Diva Rock.
Once there, you’ll need to climb up a mountain where you’ll come across a ruined campsite and a journal. You can read it to dive deeper into the lore, but it’s not necessary for finding the bow. What is important is heading up the ridge behind the camp, where you’ll encounter a semi-invisible troll.

In previous versions of the game, taking down this troll was a serious challenge. Just like with Umbra, the only real option was to lure him into a city and let the guards handle it. But in Oblivion Remastered, things are much easier — the semi-invisible troll can be killed with just a few arrows on low difficulty.
Don’t forget about your defense
That wraps up the guide on finding the Oblivion Remastered Strongest Early Weapon, where I shared two powerful choices that can stay with you for a long time. And of course, don’t forget about your defense! That’s why I’ve also prepared a guide on the Oblivion Best Armor for Early Game, where I go into detail about the best armor sets you can find during the early stages of your adventure.
Oblivion Remastered is a must-play if you’ve never experienced The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion or even Skyrim. And if you have played either of them, then this is an even bigger reason to return. Besides enhanced visuals, the game includes gameplay tweaks and other interesting features—though I won’t spoil them here.
