Lyney Build Guide - Genshin Impact

If you're looking for a powerhouse bow user in Genshin Impact, look no further than Lyney! He's been a fan favorite since version 4.0, thanks to his incredible Pyro abilities. If you want a team that's on fire, look no further than Lyney and Pyro characters!

Check out Lynel's best build: weapons, artifacts, ascension materials, team compositions, and our in-depth rating of this legendary character in our exclusive guide!

What Kind Of Character Is Lyney?

Get ready to experience the incredible Lyney, a Pyro DPS that deals DMG mainly through Charged Attack! He's an absolute powerhouse when it comes to dealing DMG with charged attack! Not only that, but he can also summon a cat figure that will deal massive damage to enemy targets and taunt them while stacking "Props" that will boost his Elemental Skill DMG. And he can even deal damage using his Elemental Skill and Burst when they're active!

Lyney Strengths and Weaknesses

Strengths
• DMG scaling is off the charts for both Charged Attack and Pyro users, and the more Pyro characters you have on your team, the higher it goes—it's an unbeatable advantage! The Grin-Malkin Hat is an amazingly versatile item that can easily be refreshed via Charged Attacks or Elemental Burst. This gives you at least 2 sources of DPS at any time, allowing you to really make a splash in any situation!.Lyney is a force to be reckoned with in 5-stack Charge Level passive mode! This increases his Elemental Skill Damage, making it a breeze to take down whatever content he's up against – as long as he has a healer on hand to keep him healed!Lyney can grab the enemy's attention with the Grin-Malkin Hat and then focus down opponents with incredible ease! You'll love discovering the local specialties in Fontaine!
Weaknesses
Passive Talent has made a bold move, locking his best teams down to an incredible variation of mono pyro. This is sure to shake up the competition! The awesome thing about this character is that he can charge his shots and use them to take down his enemies! He does need to have a healer, though, in order to reach 5 stacks on his Charge Level. If you're aiming and get interrupted, you'll lose DPS. But don't worry! You can use a shield like Zhongli to let Lyney fire away without worrying about consequences. The Charged Attack-centric feature is an amazing addition to the game. It means that if the player misses the Aimed Shot, it's a DPS loss, but that's all part of the challenge and fun!

1. First Great Magic: This Signature Weapon

This weapon is a must-have for any serious Genshin Impact player looking to maximize their damage output! Here's another great benefit: for every party member with the same Elemental Type as the wielder, the wielder's ATK is increased by 20%, and their Movement SPD is increased by 10%.

Now for the analysis! This weapon is absolutely perfect for Lyeon! Not only does it enhance his Charged Attack damage, but it also provides significant ATK boosts when paired with a Mono Pyro team composition.

2. Aqua Simulacra:

Base ATK: 542

Substat: This weapon is incredible! Not only does it increase your HP by 16%, but it also deals CRIT DMG of 88.2%, giving you a significant boost in combat. Get ready to take down your opponents with this amazing weapon! When there are opponents nearby, the wielder's DMG is increased by a whopping 20%!

Aqua Simulacra is a fantastic addition to Lyney's arsenal, offering a substantial CRIT DMG boost that will really amp up his overall damage output! This passive effect is a perfect match for Lyney's playstyle, as he loves to engage enemies at close to mid-range.

3. Thundering Pulse

Base ATK: 608

Substat: CRIT DMG 66.2%

Effect: Get ready for an ATK boost of 20% along with the incredible might of the Thunder Emblem. At levels 1/2/3, the Thunder Emblem unleashes the full power of the Normal Attack DMG, increasing it by 12/24/40%!

Thundering Pulse is an absolute gamechanger! It provides a consistent ATK increase and enhances Normal Attack damage, making it an indispensable addition to any deck. Lyney's all about those Charged Attacks, and the awesome ATK boost gives him some serious damage-dealing potential!

4. Skyward Harp:

Base ATK: 674

Substat: And now for something really special: an incredible Critical Rate of 22.1%! This amazing effect increases Critical DMG by a whopping 20%! Amazingly, there's a 60% chance that hits will inflict a small AoE attack, dealing 125% Physical ATK DMG! And the best part is that it can only occur once every 4 seconds!

Get ready for a balanced boost in both CRIT Rate and CRIT DMG with the Skyward Harp! This incredible addition will take Lyney's critical hit potential to new heights. The passive effect adds occasional AoE damage, which can be extremely beneficial in crowd control situations – it's a great addition to Lyney's abilities!

5. Prototype Crescent (F2P Option):

Base ATK: 510

Substat: ATK% 41.3%

Effect: Aimed Shot hits on weak points increase Movement SPD by 10% and

ATK by 36% for 10s.

As a free-to-play option, Prototype Crescent provides a significant ATK boost upon hitting enemy weak points. This synergizes with Lyney's Charged Attack playstyle, making it an excellent choice for players looking to level up their game without breaking the bank.

This build has one main goal: to make Lyney as powerful as he possibly can. Lyney has a self-drain ability which is awesome. It means he can make the most of Marechaussee Hunter, which is a great move. It's definitely worth focusing on maxing out the CRIT DMG over CRIT Rate.

If you want to really make a splash in CRIT, you've got to go for CRIT stat & ATK! It's the best way to ramp up your Lyney damage output and take your game to the next level. And there's more! When choosing a weapon, you also have the exciting opportunity to consider the weapon's effect. This is something that Lyney can really benefit from if you choose the right weapon.

Lyney Pyro DPS Artifact Build

To really unleash Lyney's full potential as an incredible Pyro DPS character in Genshin Impact, choosing the perfect artifact set is absolutely essential! The Marechaussee Hunter set is an absolute must for Lyney! It perfectly matches his skills and style of play, and it'll take his character to the next level.

The incredible 2-piece bonus of the Marechaussee Hunter set boosts Lyney's Normal and Charged Attack damage by a whopping 15%! This amazing enhancement gives Lyney's primary damage sources an awesome boost. This amazing 4-piece bonus increases CRIT Rate by 12% for 5 seconds whenever Lyney's HP increases or decreases, and it stacks up to 3 times – wow! This effect is a perfect match for Lyney's mechanics, as his abilities often involve HP fluctuations, which means the CRIT rate boost will be triggered!

Not to worry if you can't get your hands on the Marechaussee Hunter set! There are plenty of great alternatives, like a 2-piece Crimson Witch of Flames paired with a 2-piece Gladiator's Finale. This combination is an absolute powerhouse! Not only do you get a whopping 15% Pyro damage bonus and an 18% attack increase, but it also contributes to Lyney's overall damage output, making this an unmissable choice.

Another fantastic option is the 4-piece Shimenawa's Reminiscence set! The two-piece bonus is a fantastic way to boost your attack! It grants an impressive 18% increase. The 4-piece bonus is a game-changer! Not only does it enhance Normal and Charged Attack damage by 50% for 10 seconds after casting an Elemental Skill, but it does so at the cost of just 15 Energy. This is an incredible benefit that, when managed properly, will take your gameplay to the next level!

It's time to choose your artifact stats, and we've got some great tips to help you out. First up is ATK%. You'll want to make sure you prioritize that for the Sands. Then, it's Pyro damage bonus for the Goblet, and CRIT Rate or CRIT Damage for the Circlet. Make sure you aim for a 1:2 ratio between CRIT Rate and CRIT Damage for the best results! Substats are the way to go! Focus on CRIT Rate, CRIT Damage, ATK%, and Energy Recharge to supercharge Lyney's damage potential. By zeroing in on these artifact sets and stat priorities, you can make Lyney a total damage machine and an unstoppable force in combat.

Lyney Build Guide

Lyney Best Team Comp

Let me tell you, Lyney is absolutely the main DPS in this team! They benefit massively from Pyro resonance, as well as the presence of two other Pyro characters!

- Xiangling is an incredible off-field Pyro DPS who can provide awesome ATK buffs through Guoba's chili and amazing Pyro-related buffs and debuffs through constellations!

- Kazuha is incredible! Not only can she reduce enemy Pyro Resist through Viridescent Venerer x4, but she can also give Pyro Damage a boost. What a powerhouse!

Bennett is a real asset because he can provide healing and ATK buff simultaneously!

Other Characters That Work With Lyney

Dehya's attack is coordinated and can inflict Pyro. This also increases the active character's resistance to interruption, which is great! Klee can be both a sub-DPS and support. This is especially the case when her C2 has been unlocked, which is fantastic. Yanfei's shield capability is locked at C4. But, what she lacks in this area, she makes up for with her amazing TTDS abilities. She's an incredible buffer and shield!

  • Aside from Anemo support, you can also go for a shield such as Zhongli, which is a great choice!
  • Bennett is almost a requirement to Lyney's teams, so make sure you have him if you can! If you do not have a Bennett or use him on another team, Jean and other Anemo healers that can use Viridescent Venerer can be used. Just make sure that you have at least 2 Pyros in other slots, and you'll be all set!

Try To Have 2 Pyro In The Team (Outside Lyney)

If you want to really make the most of all the amazing passive effects that Lyney has to offer, you'll want to make sure you have at least two Pyros on your team – no question! Two Pyros give Lyney an incredible 100% DMG Boost, making them an unstoppable force to be reckoned with! They can match Melt and Vaporize teams while being easier to maintain, making them a fantastic choice!

Will Lyney be worth to pull?

I think it's safe to say that we've all been waiting a long time for a new and reliable Pyro DPS! So it might feel like a breath of fresh air to many players to have Lyney back on the scene. His DMG scaling is pretty decent, and his mechanics are pretty easy to understand. He'll be able to dish out a lot of DMG once you get the hang of him!

Wondrous Trick: Miracle Parade

The Normal Attack is a great option if you're just starting out. It allows you to perform up to four consecutive shots with a bow, giving you plenty of chances to hone your skills and have fun! The Plunging Attack is a really cool move that fires off a shower of arrows in mid-air before falling and striking the ground. It deals AoE DMG upon impact, so it's great for taking down enemies from all around you!

The Charged Attack is a more precise aimed shot with increased DMG, perfect for taking down those tricky targets! Just a quick heads-up: While aiming, you'll see flames running across the arrowhead before the arrow is fired. The cool thing is that different effects will happen based on how long you charge for!

Level 1 Charge: Fire away! You'll send a pyro-infused arrow soaring through the air, dealing some Pyro DMG along the way.

Charge Level 2: This one's a real treat! It fires off a Prop Arrow that deals Pyro DMG, and upon hit, it will summon a Grin-Malkin Hat. When Lyney is feeling supercharged and has more than 60% HP, he'll even give a bit of his own HP to get a Prop Surplus stack! Just a heads-up, you can have a max of 5 stacks.

Just a friendly heads-up! The effect will disappear after 30 seconds if the character isn't in combat. Even though Lyney can go as low as 60% of his max HP, we really hope he doesn't have to!

The Grin-Malkin Hat is a clever little thing, isn't it? Not only can it taunt nearby opponents, but it can also attract their attacks! Just a heads-up, each opponent can only be taunted by the Hat once every 5 seconds. The hat will take on a little bit of Lyney's maximum health points. If the hat is destroyed or the timer runs out, it'll fire off a little pyrotechnic surprise at one of your allies, giving them some extra damage.

Arkhe: Pneuma: Every so often, the Prop Arrow will create a Spiritbreath Thorn right where it lands! This will deal Pyro DMG in the form of Pneuma-aligned damage, so keep an eye out!

Lyney Build Guide

Elemental Skill - Bewildering Lights

Lyney puts on a show with his hat, treating us to a dazzling fireworks display! When you choose to use it, he'll be sure to clear away all those pesky Prop Surplus stacks and then some! He'll also deal some AoE Pyro damage to any opponents unfortunate enough to be in front of him. The more stacks you clear, the more DMG will be added in. This also means that Lyney's own HP will get a little boost based on how much he's got left in his tank. When you see a Grin-Malkin Hat created by Lyney on the field, get ready for a show! It'll explode in a dazzling display of fireworks, unleashing a blast of AoE Pyro DMG that'll light up the stage. It's just a bit more potent than a regular Pyrotechnic Strike, but we think you'll love it! Just a heads-up, the DMG dealt through the Grin-Malkin Hat in this way is considered charged attack DMG!

Elemental Burst - Wondrous Trick: Miracle Parade

With a magical flourish, Lyney transforms into a swift-moving Grin-Malkin Cat. (Just a quick note, folks, to make sure we're all on the same page! These two are two different props, so don't be mixing them up. The Grin-Malkin Cat is a bit of a wildcard, so watch out for that!) When this cat gets up close and personal with opponents, it'll rain down flames on them. This will deal up to one instance of Pyro DMG to each opponent. When the magic is over, he'll turn the Grin-Malkin Cat back into his regular form, set off some pretty cool fireworks that will hurt any opponents nearby, bring out one of the Grin-Malkin Hats, and give him one Prop Surplus stack. Oh, you can even cancel the Grin-Malkin Cat if you want to!

If our lovely Lyney drinks some HP when firing off one of his Prop Arrows, the Grin-Malkin hat that he summons with his arrow will, upon hitting an opponent, restore 3 Energy to Lyney, and increase the damage that he does by 80%!

Ascension 4 - Conclusive Ovation

Just wanted to let you know that the DMG Lyney is here to help! If you're facing opponents affected by Pyro, we've got your back. We're offering some awesome buffs to help you out! This is great! It increases the DMG dealt by 60%. And here's another fun fact: Each Pyro party member, other than Lyney, will cause the DMG dealt to increase by an additional 20%. And the great news is that Lyney can even deal up to 100% increased DMG to opponents affected by Pyro in this way!

Constellation 2: Loquacious Cajoling

When you have Lyney on the field, he'll gain a stack of crisp focus every 2 seconds, which is pretty awesome! This awesome move will increase his CRIT DMG by 20%, which is pretty cool! Just a heads-up, you can only have three stacks at a time. When Lyney leaves the field, this effect will automatically end.

Constellation 3: Prestidigitation

This one's a real boost for your card force translocation skills! You can level up to 15, with a maximum of 3.

Constellation 4: Well-Versed, Well-Rehearsed

Oh no! It looks like Lyney's Pyro Charged Attack has hit an opponent. Don't worry though, they'll only lose 20% of their Pyro RES for 6 seconds.

Constellation 5: To Pierce Enigmas

It'd be great if you could increase the level of Wondrous Trick. Thanks so much! Just wanted to let you know that you can get the Miracle Parade by level 3.

Also, you've reached the maximum upgrade level, which is level 15.

Constellation 6: Guarded Smile

Lyney's got a trick up his sleeve! When he fires a Prop Arrow, he fires a Pyrotechnic Strike! I know it can be tricky at first, so I'm happy to help. When you repeat that, it will deal 80% of a Pyrotechnic Strike's DMG.

Just a heads up, this damage is considered "charged attack" damage.
