League of Legends Patch 25.14 Overview: Yunara Release, New Mini-Game, Champion Changes and More

League of Legends Patch 25.14 is probably one of the most anticipated updates, as it launches on July 16, 2025 and introduces the new champion, Yunara. Developers also decided to spice up the gameplay by adding new mini-games to the client and making numerous champion changes. In this blog, I'll briefly cover the main changes and what to expect in Patch 25.14.
Yunara Is Finally Here

Yunara is finally coming to the Rift on July 16, 2025 at 19:00 UTC! We’ve waited a long time, there were plenty of rumors, and a lot of information leaked before the champion’s official release. If you haven’t checked out the new ADC’s abilities yet, I recommend reading Yunara League of Legends: Skills Overview, where we’ve put together a full breakdown of all her skills along with some gameplay tips.
New League of Legends Mini-Games
We’ll also get two new mini-games that are connected by a shared storyline. They’ll help expand the lore of Yunara and Xin Zhao. Below, I’ve briefly outlined the gameplay and story.
Battle of Koeshin

In patch 25.14, we’re getting a new mode — Battle for Koesin. It’s a 2D side-scrolling beat 'em up where you’ll take on the roles of Xin Zhao and Yunara. The story has you fighting Azakan while defending a village after Yunara’s temple suddenly returns to the world.
The mode is based on the Motion Comics “Pilgrimage” and “The Devoted Priestess.” Xin Zhao travels to Ionia to understand why the Spirit Bloom started in Demacia and ends up caught in events where the spiritual and material worlds overlap.
Battle for Koesin includes a full campaign with cutscenes and events. After completing it, you’ll unlock Arcade Mode and the Koesin Court, as well as receive exclusive icons.

After completing the story mode of Battle for Koesin, the Koesin Court will unlock in the menu — a new mode reminiscent of Spirit Bonds. You’ll enter the temple courtyard with four spirit statues that you can build relationships with by offering petals.
Petals are earned by completing repeatable missions in-game. To increase your rank from D to S+, you’ll need to give these petals to the spirits. In total, you’ll need 20 petals to claim all rewards.
There are also bonuses: the battle pass grants 3 petals instantly, you get 30% faster progress when playing as Xin Zhao, Yunara, or with any Spirit Blossom skin, and a 100% bonus for using a Spirit Blossom 2025 skin (bonuses don’t stack).
Gameplay Changes

In this patch, the developers have devoted a lot of attention not only to extra content and the release of the new champion but also to significant changes for champions. This patch is an effort to make the game even more balanced by buffing weaker champions and applying nerfs to strong and particularly annoying ones. The same approach applies to items. Let’s take a closer look at these changes.
Champion Changes
Below is a detailed list of champion balance changes in League of Legends Patch 25.14. The update includes adjustments to stats and abilities to improve overall game balance.
Champion | Changes |
Azir | Base Health increased from 550 to 575. W - Arise! AP Ratio increased from 40/45/50/55/60% to 45/50/55/60/65% AP. |
Braum | Base Armor reduced from 47 to 42. |
Briar | R - Certain Death now cleanses on hit and grants 1.25s CC immunity. Fixed W-Q targeting bug. |
Darius | Q heal on missing health increased from 15/30/45% to 17/34/51% based on targets hit. |
Fiora | R - Grand Challenge heal per second now always 100%. Visual bugfix for healing circle. |
Fizz | W cooldown reduced at higher ranks (down to 3s). E AP Ratio increased from 90% to 95%. |
Kled | Passive: Dismounted damage scaling buffed. Skaarl health scaling adjusted. Courage from takedowns removed. Gains bonus Armor/MR with HP and nearby enemies. Movement tweaks for smoother remount. Q (Mounted): Slightly lower AD ratio, weaker but longer slow, pull damage calculated on pull, Grievous Wounds removed. Q (Dismounted): Faster ammo recharge, lower pellet AD ratio, better close-range detection. W: Scaling favors tank builds, cooldown higher but reduces on attacks, improved ward interactions. E: Lower AD ratio, added HUD tracker and range indicator. R: Higher scaling at max ranks, damage now Magic, added ping indicator. |
Lee Sin | Base Attack Damage reduced from 69 to 66. |
Riven | Passive - Runic Blade AD Ratio scaling reduced from 30-60% to 30-50% based on level. |
Sett | Armor Growth reduced from 5.2 to 4.7. |
Twisted Fate | Q - Wild Cards damage reduced from 70/115/160/205/250 to 60/105/150/195/240 (+85% AP unchanged). |
Yasuo | AD Growth per level reduced from 3 to 2.5. |
Yuumi | R - Final Chapter heal per hit AP ratio reduced from 15% to 10%. |
Ziggs | Q and E AP ratios now scale with rank for better mid-lane scaling. R center damage increased at higher ranks. |
Zoe | Q base damage reduced at early levels. W damage reduced from 75-195 to 60-180, AP Ratio increased from 40% to 45%. |
For me, most of the changes are genuinely good. The nerf to the always-annoying Yuumi, the extensive work on Kled, and other adjustments should bring a bit more balance and variety to the game. However, changes like reducing Braum’s armor or buffing Darius seem a bit questionable in my opinion.
Items Changes
Items have also seen some changes, though they’re minor. Below is a list of all the updates.
Blade of the Ruined King
- Current Health On-Hit damage increased: Melee: 8% ⇒ 9%Ranged: 5% ⇒ 6%
Haunting Guise
- Maximum copies in inventory reduced from 6 ⇒ 1 to prevent stacking its passive for too much early health.
Kraken Slayer
- Price reduced: 3100 ⇒ 3000
- Damage amplification based on missing health increased: 0-50% ⇒ 0-75%
Phantom Dancer
- Attack Speed increased: 60% ⇒ 65%
- Movement Speed increased: 8% ⇒ 10%
Rod of Ages
- Mana increased: 400 ⇒ 500
- Mana per stack increased: 20 ⇒ 30
- Maximum Mana increased: 600 ⇒ 800
These changes are an attempt to improve items so that each one better fulfills its role and becomes an appealing choice in the right situations. The developers aim to make the meta more flexible, encouraging diverse builds and experimentation.
Remaining Changes in the Patch
Of course, this isn’t the full list of updates, just the most important highlights. For more details, you can check out the full Patch 25.14 notes on the official website, leagueoflegends.com. The update also includes many changes to champions and items in Arena, extensive bug fixes, and for some players, an important shift from OpenGL to Metal on macOS and changes to DirectX.
Overall, I really like Patch 25.14. It offers a mix of new content, balance improvements, and technical updates, all aimed at making League of Legends more stable and enjoyable for everyone. Looking forward to more news from Riot and even bigger improvements to the game.
