The Mid-Season Invitational 2025 will take place in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, at the Pacific Coliseum from June 27 to July 12.
The Play-In Stage will follow a Double Elimination format and run from June 27 to June 30. All matches will be played in a Best of 5 format using the now-familiar Fearless Draft system. Since it’s a Double Elimination format, each team will have two chances to qualify for the main stage of the tournament. The Play-In Stage will feature 4 teams — one from each region except LCK. The First Stand victory granted LCK’s winning team a direct spot in the Main Stage.
The Playoffs will take place from July 2 to July 13 and will also use a Double Elimination format. Every match will be a Best of 5 and played using the Fearless Draft system.
Fearless Draft has had a significantly positive impact on the professional scene. It encourages teams to try out new strategies, bring forgotten champions back into the meta, and move away from predictable drafts. This leads to greater diversity in picks and more strategic depth in matches.
For viewers, this format makes the tournament far more exciting, as it adds variety and reduces repetition — offering a fresh and dynamic viewing experience with every match.
