Yunara League of Legend: Skills Overview

The new League of Legends champion — Yunara — will soon be making her debut in the game. Yunara is expected to release during Spirit Blossom Act 2, in patch 25.13, which goes live very soon — on June 25. In this blog, we’ll break down her abilities, explore which role the New League Champion Yunara is designed for, how to play her effectively — and how to play against her. Let’s dive right in.
Yunara Abilities Explanation

Yunara is a champion perfectly suited for the bot lane marksman role. Hailing from the First Lands, she has undergone a path of spiritual discipline and inner balance to become the guardian of the ancient power of Kanmei. Despite her young age, Yunara maintains confident control over the battlefield — her style blends high attack speed, magic-infused critical strikes, and strong positioning tools. With a well-designed kit, she proves dangerous in both duels and teamfights, especially when given the space to fully unlock her potential.
Ability | Hotkey | Description |
Vow of the First Lands | Passive | Yunara’s Critical Strikes deal an additional 10.0% = (10% + 0.1% AP) magic damage. |
Cultivation of Spirit | Q | Passive: Yunara’s attacks deal an additional 5 magic damage on-hit, scaling with 10% AP. Each basic attack generates 1 Unleash (max: 8), or 2 Unleash when hitting a champion. If Yunara doesn’t attack for 6 seconds, she starts losing 1 Unleash every 0.5 seconds.Active: Yunara taps into her inner power, gaining 40% Attack Speed for 5 seconds. During this time, her attacks deal an additional 10 magic damage on-hit (scaling with 10% AP) and spread to nearby enemies, dealing 36 physical damage based on 30% of her AD.Spread attacks can critically strike if the initial hit was a critical or if hitting a structure with a rolled crit. They deal 250% damage to minions below 30% HP and apply on-hit and lifesteal effects at 30% effectiveness. |
Arc of Judgment/ Arc of Ruin | W | Yunara throws a spinning prayer bead that slows down near enemies and expands when it reaches the end of its path. The initial hit deals 138 physical damage (scaling with 110% AD and 50% AP) and slows targets by 99%, decaying over 1.5 seconds. It also deals an additional 58 physical damage per second in the area, scaling with 40% bonus AD and 25% AP.In her Transcendent State, this ability becomes Arc of Ruin. Yunara fires a laser that deals 135 physical damage (scaling with 50% bonus AD and 75% AP) plus 135 magic damage (also scaling with 50% bonus AD and 75% AP), and slows by 99% decaying over 1 second. The cast time of this ability scales with Yunara’s permanent bonus Attack Speed (from 59% to 100%). Arc of Judgment deals 100% bonus damage to minions, and its tick damage executes them if six ticks would be lethal. Arc of Ruin is considered an Ultimate ability. |
Kanmei's Steps/ Untouchable Shadow | E | Yunara becomes Ghosted and gains 60% bonus Move Speed, increased to 90% when moving toward an enemy champion. This bonus decays over 2 seconds.Transcendent State – Untouchable Shadow: Yunara dashes in a direction.Untouchable Shadow is considered an Ultimate ability. |
Transcend One’s Self | R | Yunara enters a Transcendent State for 15 seconds. During this state, Cultivation of Spirit is automatically activated for the full duration. Arc of Judgment is upgraded to Arc of Ruin, with its cooldown reduced by 50%. Kanmei’s Steps is upgraded to Untouchable Shadow, and its cooldown is immediately refreshed. |

The abilities look visually stunning, and their practical use leaves little doubt that this champion truly excels in her role. The Yunara new League Champion fits perfectly both into casual solo queue games and the professional scene. Her thematic style also aligns beautifully with the Spirit Blossom event.

Yunara In-Game Role
Yunara is, without a doubt, a marksman from head to toe. Her gameplay follows the classic ADC formula: keep your distance, kite effectively, choose the right position, and deal massive damage. Even Riot Games developers mentioned that their goal was to create a bottom lane marksman — and they’re committed to keeping her in that role.
Yunara’s entire playstyle revolves around cycling her power. Her first ability lets her build up energy, which she can then unleash in short bursts of incredibly high damage. And of course, her ultimate enhances all of her abilities, giving her a significant power spike during fights.
This champion requires a deep understanding of power timing — knowing when to engage and when to stay back. In lane, before she’s able to activate her first ability, she should play passively and focus on positioning. But once it becomes available, she can start pressuring and trading. A simple lane combo would be: W to slow the enemy, E to close the gap, and Q to deal burst damage. If you pull this off with a support who has a stun, it's almost always a guaranteed kill.
Her strongest moment in a fight is during her ultimate. That’s a key tip — both for those playing her and those playing against her. If you’re on Yunara and your ult is up, it’s time to hunt. If you’re facing her, the best move is to avoid fighting until her ult expires.
One last tip from the developers: Yunara performs better in smaller, chaotic skirmishes than in full 5v5 teamfights. So if you want to succeed on her, focus on maintaining the right distance and picking your targets wisely — that’s the path to victory with Yunara.
Yunara Meta
Without exaggeration, this is a very strong marksman, and we’ll likely see her in the upcoming League of Legends Tournaments. She represents the original concept of ADC gameplay — high damage, a clear understanding of her own power and the enemy’s strength, and perfect positioning and distance in fights. That’s what Yunara is all about. It’s safe to say that the Yunara new LoL champion will soon become one of the most picked and banned champions, both in pro play and solo queue. In any case, she’s an outstanding champion who’s bound to shape the new meta and appear consistently in ranked and competitive matches. So don’t miss your chance to try out the new champion — and good luck on the Rift!
