IEM Rio 2023 spectator guide

A few days after the RMR tournaments end, the best teams will come to Rio de Janeiro, where the iconic major was held last year. The status of the championship speaks for itself as it is the first in the IEM series since the end of the fourth Intel Grand Slam season.

Format of IEM Rio 2023
The tournament will consist of two stages:
- Group stage (April 17-20)
- Play-offs (April 21-23)
Initially, the sixteen participants will be divided into two groups:

The first group stage matches will be played as BO1 (one win) while the remaining matches will be played as BO3 (two wins). The group stage format itself is a double elimination grid, from which three teams from each group will advance: The winners will advance to the semi-finals, while the 2nd and 3rd place teams will start their journey from the 1/4 final.
The IEM Rio 2023 play-offs will be played as BO3, but the grand final will be played as BO5 (best of three).

Date and place of IEM Rio 2023
The event will take place from 17th to 23rd April in Rio de Janeiro. The tournament play-offs will be played at the Jeunesse Arena, which hosted last year's major. Sixteen competitors from CIS, Europe, Asia and Latin America will compete for a combined prize pool of $250,000 and a ticket to IEM Cologne 2023.
