Hollow Knight: Silksong — Complete Guide to the Fast Travel System

In the first Hollow Knight, fast travel worked through the Stag Stations: once you unlocked two, you could freely move between them. In Silksong, the idea is similar but presented a bit differently. Pharloom offers several ways to move around faster, yet there is only one true system — and that’s exactly what we’ll cover here. Fast Travel System in Silksong

In Hollow Knight: Silksong, you’ll come across various shortcuts — for example, an elevator connecting the upper part of Moss Grotto with Bone Bottom. These routes aren’t true fast travel, but they make navigating Pharloom’s maze-like map much easier.

The main fast travel system is the Pharloom Bellways. Bell Beast stations are marked with signs featuring three arrows pointing to the right. Once unlocked, Hornet can ride the Bell Beast and instantly travel between all discovered points — there are ten in total.

This system works similarly to the Stag Stations from Hollow Knight. However, while the Last Stag willingly helped the Knight, in Silksong Hornet must first defeat the Bell Beast to make it obey her — and that’s quite a challenge.

How to Unlock Fast Travel in Hollow Knight: Silksong

To activate the fast travel system, you’ll need to reach Mosshome at the top of Moss Grotto, unlock the Silkspear ability, and then free the Bell Beast from its bindings in the upper part of The Marrow.

The sequence of actions is as follows:

• Head right from Bone Bottom to reach The Marrow.
• Explore the area until you come across Shakra, the local map merchant.
• From his room, go left and then upward to enter the Mosshome sub-zone in Moss Grotto.
• Climb onto the platforms and pull the lever on the left to unlock a shortcut back to Bone Bottom, then continue climbing.
• Make your way through the trap-filled room until you find the Weaver symbol. Interact with it to obtain the Silkspear ability.
• Backtrack to the sign with three arrows located above Shakra’s room, then head right — this is where you’ll find the Bell Beast.

Inside, use the Silkspear to break all the silk bindings at once. Once freed, you’ll have to fight the Bell Beast — defeat it to make it submit and unlock the fast travel system.

Battle with the Bell Beast

The fight against the Bell Beast may seem challenging, but if you dodge the falling bells in time, jump over the enemy during its charge, and stay beneath it when it leaps, you should be able to handle it without too much trouble.

After the victory, Hornet will be transported to a dreamlike area. Climb to the top, collect the Silk Heart item, and she will awaken back in the boss room. From this point on, you can step onto the platform next to the Bell Beast and instantly travel to any fast travel points you’ve already unlocked.
