Fortnite Ballistic — Tactical 5v5 First Person Shooter: Release Date, Details

The official game website recently announced a mode that few expected to see in Fortnite—and I haven’t noticed any leaks mentioning it either. Get ready to “plant the bomb,” as the game is introducing a mode that will feel very familiar to you.
What is Fortnite Ballistic?
A new game mode pits teams of five players against each other in intense competition. The action unfolds from a first-person perspective, with matches divided into rounds centered around planting a Rift Device. Winning earns players funds to purchase more powerful weapons, with the arsenal including smoke and flash grenades for tactical, team-based gameplay.

This setup strongly resembles Counter-Strike 2, perhaps as a nod by Epic Games to the FPS giant’s impact on the genre. While the introduction of a first-person perspective was anticipated earlier, the addition of a 5v5 bomb-planting scenario came as a surprise to many fans.
Release Date
Fortnite Ballistic will officially join the game on December 11, debuting alongside other Fortnite Game Modes, players will have the option to participate in both ranked and unranked matches, catering to different competitive preferences.
How to Play Fortnite Ballistic

It’s simple! Launch the game and scroll down a bit on the home screen. Like the OG Fortnite, this will be a separate mode within the game.
You begin the game with a Ranger Pistol and 800 Credits. In Ballistic, Credits are earned by scoring eliminations and planting the Rift Point Device. They can be spent at the start of each round on additional weapons and items to enhance your chances of victory.

Surviving a round allows you to retain your gear and shields for the next, except for consumables you've used. Weapons, smoke grenades, and flashbangs can be dropped for teammates or picked up from eliminated players.
Once planted, the Rift Point Device takes 45 seconds to detonate. Successfully defending it is crucial, as staying too close risks being caught in the blast radius, leading to elimination and the loss of your gear.
During a match, you can check the scoreboard to monitor your performance, assess your teammates' progress, and see their available weapons and items.
