Everything you need to know about PlayStation Showcase 2023
Elen StelmakhThe PlayStation Showcase 2023 is just around the corner, an important milestone for all fans of Sony's creations. As the E3 show has slowly faded into oblivion, many video game manufacturers, publishers and just big corporations are trying to build their empire. One of them is PlayStation Showcase 2023, which will take place on Wednesday 24th May.
Sony Corporation has prepared a lot of heresy announcements for the fans. The presentation will last just over an hour and will focus on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation VR2 games being developed by top studios from around the world. According to the official press release issued earlier this week, we should expect a few creations from PlayStation Studios' in-house studio.
The live streaming will start next Wednesday, May 24, at 1pm PST/ 9am UK time on YouTube and Twitch.
What new products will be shown at PlayStation Showcase 2023 + a few expectations
Marvel's Spider-Man 2
PlayStation Showcase 2023 won't be without Marvel's Spider-Man 2. The next installment of the titular PlayStation 5 exclusive, developed by Insomniac Games studio, is set to get an official release date and gameplay details. With that said no one doubts that the game will be Sony's signature title this year.
Silent Hill 2 Remake
Also Silent Hill 2 Remake will be presented at PlayStation Showcase 2023. We know that a light "reimagining" of the cult series will be released on PlayStation 5, but the game is also supposed to be released on PC and on Steam. Bloober Team have been working on the remake for a long time, so during the show should announce the official release date.

The Last of Us: Factions
Many fans are waiting for the return of The Last of Us from Naughty Dog. But while there are no rumours of a third installment in the series, it is known that Neil Druckman and company have been working on multiplayer for a long time. Studio head Neil Druckmann himself confirmed this during last year's Summer Game Fest live event. Given the long wait, it may be at the PlayStation Showcase 2023 that The Last of Us: Factions will be announced.
Mortal Kombat 1
The reboot of the cult fighting game series Mortal Kombat was announced just now. As expected, NetherRealm Studios will want to attend PlayStation Showcase 2023 to show more details about Mortal Kombat 1 after the debut trailer.
Death Stranding 2
No less The International rugged newcomer, about which almost nothing is known. Norman Reedus, star of The Walking Dead and protagonist of Death Stranding, has managed to let slip that he was involved in the sequel. The release of part two was subsequently confirmed at the Game Awards with a predictably bizarre trailer. Now many fans believe that Death Stranding 2 will be shown at PlayStation Showcase 2023, because the game was a PlayStation exclusive for almost a year.
Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater Remake
What is certain is that Konami will be attending the presentation. Since the remake has been rumored for a long time, it's likely that the announcement of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater Remake will happen at PlayStation Showcase 2023. What's more, everything goes to the fact that the game will be a temporary exclusive for the PlayStation 5.
A few guesses from fans
Since PlayStation Showcase 2023 will feature projects for PlayStation VR2, many fans are speculating that an updated version of Half-Life: Alyx will be shown at the presentation. Coming back to the PlayStation 5, Sucker Punch Studios will probably want to reveal the first details about the Ghost of Tsushima sequel. Don't forget that rumours are actively talking about a sequel to the Uncharted series, which could also attend the upcoming presentation. Sony's Bend studio, the same one that gave the controversial first installment of Days Gone, could also reveal its next creation.
There are also theories that Sony will want to show the Wolverine trailer to further fuel The International's interest in its creation. Not to forget Returnal, who will probably want to see the DLC just at the PlayStation Showcase 2023 presentation. What we definitely shouldn't expect is a remake of Bloodborne. It's understandable - the game would like to get to the PC.
All in all, PlayStation Showcase 2023 promises to be The International event. Considering the fact that PlayStation 5 still doesn't have a lot of decent games, it's time for Sony to hurry up and speed up the pipeline of good new games.
