DOOM: Dark Ages Weapon List is the most boom in the franchise yet

This entry in the series features more weapons than any other. Historically, DOOM has always valued its arsenal more than its story. As the spiritual forefather of all FPS games, DOOM gets a free pass — no need for heavy-handed drama or philosophical overload.

So, here’s the total list with all DOOM weapons included: Guns, Shield Runes, Melee, and Atlant Robot:

Every weapon in DOOM: Dark Ages is mandatory and tied directly into the campaign flow — nothing is missable, and nothing is filler. You’ll pick each one up at key moments, often to overcome specific enemies or advance through story-critical encounters. By the end of the game, the Slayer wields 20 distinct tools of destruction, not counting the gear exclusive to the Atlan robot. This is the most expansive arsenal in the franchise yet, fully adapted to the brutal medieval sci-fi setting.

Next, every DOOM weapon type with its ones.

DOOM GUNS

If you’re looking to get a grip on every piece of demon-slaying hardware, you’ve come to the right place. Below is the full guide to every gun-type weapon in the game, following the official classification and in random order.

Shield Saw

The central tool of Dark Ages combat, the Shield Saw combines blocking, parrying, and boomerang attacks with raw melee damage and synergy with elemental runes. It's a defensive weapon that becomes deadly on offense thanks to precision parries and combo strikes. The Shield Saw is a versatile combat tool that combines offense, defense, and execution. Unlocked in Chapter 2, it's suited for clearing crowds, stunning enemies, and breaking armor.

(Image: DOOM: Dark Ages. Pulverizer. EGamersWorld)

Pulverizer

A brutal medieval cannon firing skulls, the Pulverizer gets faster and stronger with each kill, using Runic Skull and Runic Strike for ramping damage while Flay widens the shot for crowd clearing. It's loud, chunky, and chaotic, turning frontlines into bone dust. The Pulverizer is a close-range cannon that ramps up in speed and power with each kill. Unlocked in Chapter 4, it's best for thinning large crowds of weak enemies.

(Image: DOOM: Dark Ages. Cycler. EGamersWorld)

Cycler

This double-barreled variant of the Accelerator fires electric spikes that spread damage and shock nearby enemies. It builds synergy through Shock, Amplify, Fulmination, and Overload for extended arc damage and chain lightning-style effects. The Cycler fires twin shock rounds that weaken enemies and spread lightning effects. Unlocked in Chapter 5, it's suited for steady damage to break shields and armor.

(Image: DOOM: Dark Ages. Accelerator. EGamersWorld)

Accelerator

Replacing the Plasma Rifle, the Accelerator builds power with sustained fire, then vents it in a powerful heat burst. Upgrades like Feedback, Stabilizer, and Heatblast control this mechanic, while Modulator, Mega Cell, and Overload scale the output. The Accelerator ramps up over time to unleash powerful heat blasts at max charge. Unlocked in Chapter 2, it's made for rapid-fire damage and energy shield breaking.

DOOM Dark Ages: All Available Weapons In Game 5

(Image: DOOM: Dark Ages. Grenade Launcher. EGamersWorld)

Grenade Launcher

A straightforward lobber of explosives, this launcher uses Fragment, Rupture, and Cataclysm to turn direct hits into cluster bomb showers, keeping area denial high. It's the workhorse of splash damage with clean control and detonation arcs. The Grenade Launcher delivers consistent splash damage with explosive chaining potential. Unlocked in Chapter 8, it's built for mid-power explosive damage.

DOOM Dark Ages: All Available Weapons In Game 6

(Image: DOOM: Dark Ages. Chainshot. EGamersWorld)

Chainshot

This cannon fires a chained core that slams targets with heavy impact and synergizes with parries via Eldritch Blessing, then explodes through Gravitational Flux and Cosmic Breach. It’s a risk-reward weapon that thrives on timing. The Chainshot is a parry-based impact weapon built for heavy strikes and explosive finishers. Unlocked in Chapter 6, it's built for chargeable single shot heavy damage.

(Image: DOOM: Dark Ages. Super Shotgun. EGamersWorld)

Super Shotgun

The double-barrel beast returns with brutalist flair, still dominating at close range despite losing its grapple. Speed Loader shortens reloads, Shatter adds armor shreds, and Eat This! maximizes burst spread for kills. The Super Shotgun is a devastating short-range cannon built for burst kills and armor breaking. Unlocked in Chapter 5, it's suited for massive damage at close quarters.

Ballistic Force Crossbow (BFC)

The BFG successor, the BFC, fires massive Eldritch Lances that clear the screen and crush everything in line of sight. It holds just three charges and can’t be used alongside the Shield Saw, emphasizing careful timing. The Ballistic Force Crossbow is a limited-use mega-weapon that clears the screen in one shot. Unlocked in Chapter 14, it's built for massive explosive shots that end battles.

DOOM Dark Ages: All Available Weapons In Game 9

(Image: DOOM: Dark Ages. Combat Shotgun. EGamersWorld)

Combat Shotgun

The classic returns with tight spread and rhythmic shots, now enhanced with flaming ammo and no grenade launcher. Upgrades like Smelt, Blast, and Flare-Up convert its rhythm into armor farming and fodder sweeping. The Combat Shotgun is a fast, close-range weapon that rewards aggressive aim and armor farming. Unlocked in Chapter 1, it's suited for close-quarters damage.

DOOM Dark Ages: All Available Weapons In Game 10

(Image: DOOM: Dark Ages. Ravager. EGamersWorld)

Ravager

A focused alternative to the Pulverizer, the Ravager trades spread for single-target pressure and sustain. Upgrades like Vampirism, Supplier, Ignition, and Slow Burn make it an endurance tool that keeps you fighting. The Ravager is a sustain-heavy weapon that trades spread for reliable health and ammo drops. Unlocked in Chapter 12, it's best for a focused stream of rapid fire.

DOOM Dark Ages: All Available Weapons In Game 11

(Image: DOOM: Dark Ages. Shredder. EGamersWorld)

Shredder

This fast-firing spike SMG peppers targets with ricochets or explosive bursts depending on upgrades like Pincushion, No Frills, and Barbed. It excels at breaking up mobs and triggering elemental effects. The Shredder is a high-speed spike launcher ideal for crowd control and status chaining. Unlocked in Chapter 1, it's suited for mid-range rapid fire.

DOOM Dark Ages: All Available Weapons In Game 12

(Image: DOOM: Dark Ages. Impaler. EGamersWorld)

Impaler

Unlike the Shredder, the Impaler delivers slow, precise spike shots that pin enemies and recharge your melee. Stalwart and Salvage improve uptime, while Lobotomy and Chronospike reward aim and timing. The Impaler is a high-damage, single-shot weapon for tactical crowd picks and skill shots. Unlocked in Chapter 4, it's built for sniping and heavy precision damage.

DOOM Dark Ages: All Available Weapons In Game 13

(Image: DOOM: Dark Ages. Impaler. EGamersWorld)

Rocket Launcher

The classic doomstick returns with big explosions and self-healing mechanics. Cannibalism and Bloodlust convert self-damage into survivability, while Cooked and Blood Sacrifice improve burst output. The Rocket Launcher deals heavy explosive damage with risk-reward healing mechanics. Unlocked in Chapter 10, it's best for heavy-duty explosive shots.

DOOM SHIELD RUNES

Shield Runes are parry-based upgrades that attach directly to your shield in Doom: The Dark Ages. You can only equip one at a time, but each rune completely changes what happens when you parry a ranged Hell Surge attack. Instead of just knocking projectiles away, parries become offensive tools that trigger powerful counterattacks, ranging from shockwaves and lightning strikes to auto-firing turrets and homing daggers. Unlike traditional weapon mods, Shield Runes don’t require manual activation. They’re passive, reactive abilities that reward perfect timing with instant crowd control, resource generation, or raw damage.

DOOM Dark Ages: All Available Weapons In Game 14

Ground Fissure

Unlocked in Chapter 9. Parrying with this rune causes a ground shockwave that stuns enemies. The first shield rune you’ll unlock, Ground Fissure, sends out a stunning shockwave when you parry a Hell Surge attack. It deals moderate damage and briefly staggers anything it touches, acting as a soft crowd control tool that also opens enemies up for follow-up attacks. Upgrades like Aftershock and Megathrust boost its reach and impact, while Wavefront adds bonus armor drops. Ground Fissure is an all-purpose starter rune that rewards spacing, timing, and cleanup.

Heaven Splitter

Unlocked in Chapter 14. Parrying brings down a bolt of lightning that shocks enemies. This rune calls down a lightning strike when you parry, inflicting shock on the attacker and nearby foes. It acts as a short stun and soft CC tool, and it pairs well with melee rushdowns or AoE follow-ups. Upgrades like Induction and Megaburst expand the stun zone, while Gigawatt adds chain lightning-style shock damage. Heaven Splitter is a battlefield disruptor that gives you time to reposition or start a finisher combo.

Holy Swarm

Unlocked in Chapter 11. Parrying fires homing daggers at the attacker. Parrying with Holy Swarm equipped launches a cluster of homing daggers that seek out nearby enemies. It’s a fire-and-forget effect that deals splash damage without needing much direction, making it great for chaotic mid-fight parries. Outbreak, Upsurge, and Plague all stack the number of daggers and scale their damage further. Holy Swarm is a reactive, low-maintenance rune that turns defensive plays into AoE harassment.

Auto Turret

Unlocked in Chapter 12. Parrying shoots a shoulder-mounted turret ahead of you. When this rune triggers, a shoulder-mounted turret spawns and fires at enemies in front of you. It lingers for a few seconds and tracks your movement, dealing consistent damage as you reposition. It can be modded with Extended Magazine for duration, Rapid Fire for DPS, and Health Extractor for sustain. The Auto Turret is an aggressive support rune that punishes pressure and melts mid-tier enemies with passive fire.

DOOM MALEE

Doom: The Dark Ages strips away glory kills but replaces them with a brutal lineup of melee weapons that bring the pain in more direct ways. There are three core melee options, each suited to different styles of combat—from fast-paced combo chains to massive, single-hit destruction. These weapons are all unlocked over the course of the campaign and can be upgraded to further push their damage, utility, or crowd control.

Each melee weapon interacts with the parry system and demon resources in unique ways, offering different benefits like ammo or armor drops. Mastering their timing and effects is essential if you want to keep the demon horde at bay without burning through your ammo reserves.

DOOM Dark Ages: All Available Weapons In Game 15

Power Gauntlet

The Power Gauntlet is unlocked in Chapter 1 and shines in fast-paced combat with frequent combos that generate ammo. The Power Gauntlet is your starting melee weapon and feels like an extension of Doomguy's rage. It's a knuckle-plated fist that builds damage with each successive combo hit, and its charge is restored instantly when you parry a Hell Surge. It thrives in close-quarters combat where you can keep pressure on enemies without needing to reload.

Upgrades enhance combo finishers, add a fourth strike, or even apply shock to your first hit. If you're into fast-paced brawling with reliable resource generation, the Gauntlet is your go-to.

DOOM Dark Ages: All Available Weapons In Game 16

Flail

The Flail becomes available in Chapter 6 and balances solid damage with armor drops, making it great for sustained fights. The Flail trades finesse for medieval brutality. It’s a chained spiked ball that hits hard and causes a small blast on contact, shredding armor and knocking enemies around. Every hit contributes to radial damage and chain combos, giving it decent crowd control potential.

It shines when upgraded, letting you scorch enemies, generate armor, and reduce recovery time between charges. If you like sweeping the battlefield with wide attacks while staying tanky, the Flail has your back.

DOOM Dark Ages: All Available Weapons In Game 17

Dreadmace

The Dreadmace arrives in Chapter 15, offering massive single-hit damage and ammo returns for those who favor slower, punishing strikes. The Dreadmace is a pure powerhouse—a massive spiked club that turns demons into pulp. It’s slower than the other melee weapons, but it hits like a truck. One swing is often enough to stagger or kill lesser enemies outright, especially with its massive damage scaling.

Its upgrades focus on health drops, bonus AoE damage, and follow-up swings after a successful parry. It’s not for constant use, but when you need to make a statement or end a fight quickly, the Dreadmace delivers.

DOOM ATLANT COMBAT MODES

The Atlan mech has three combat modes, starting with Unarmed, which relies on punches and stomps to build charge through successful hits or dodges. The Minigun unleashes a rapid-fire stream of bullets, with dodging perfectly temporarily boosting its damage. For close-range combat, the Shotgun delivers powerful blasts, and perfect dodges will increase its firepower as well. However, each weapon is temporary, only available at certain points in the story, and swapped out automatically as the narrative progresses.

Which DOOM Weapon is The Best?

In DOOM: The Dark Ages, the choice of weapon can significantly influence your playstyle and strategy. While the Power Gauntlet excels at quick combos and resource generation, the Flail offers solid crowd control with armor-shredding potential. For heavy hitters, the Dreadmace delivers devastating damage, perfect for when you need to make an impact. Ultimately, the best weapon depends on your approach: the Gauntlet is great for fast, continuous action, the Flail is ideal for balanced offense and defense, and the Dreadmace reigns supreme when you need raw power.
