Five Reasons to Buy PlayStation 5 in 2020
Yuriy SheremetMillions of Sony fans from all over the world are looking forward to the winter holidays: rumour has it that this period of time must be the launch moment for the new game console of the Japanese giant electronics manufacturer. The hype is understandable as almost seven years have passed since the launch of the last version of the favourite console. There have been lots of changes in the world of the gaming industry. We want to introduce you five reasons why you have to buy the PlayStation of the new generation this year.
Reason №1: Next-Gen Console by Sony is not as Expensive as It May Seem at First
Cognition comes through comparison and in the case of PlayStation 5 this rule works perfectly. Some people could be scared away by the price of $499 for the new console (do not forget that this is just a suppositional price of the console and actually it may cost less taking into account the helter-skelter that is happening in the world), but in fact, you will exchange this money for a device that will not need any update in the next six-seven years until a new generation of consoles is launched. On the other hand we have a PC: it is more expensive and it always needs upgrades. Do not forget that the developers of PlayStation 5 claim that there is downward compatibility with the games of the previous generation of the console. For example, the gamer will have more than 4 000 titles from the previous generation of the console.
Reason №2: Exclusive Projects and Opportunity to Play Some Games Before Others
It is not news for anybody that the best games are released for consoles before the companies make the PC version. The reason is simple: gamers’ unprecedented piracy and greed. In our capitalist world, nobody wants to work with losses, so developers try to stay away from the PC market. And even if some games that are supposed to be exclusive for a console join the PC market, it leads to the stories about distorted harbors with lots of bugs (Red Dead Redemption 2 is a shining example here).

Reason №3: PlayStation Will Finally Get an SSD
Something that has been long-awaited is now real: Sony has finally implemented SSD to their consoles. What does it mean for a user? First of all, it will decrease the time of loading: gamers will be able to jump from one level to another in less than no time. It’s worth noting that this is not the end of the advantages of the in-built SSD: gamers will be able to select the necessary components of a game themselves. For example, if a person wants to race online, that will be enough to download only multiplayer for the game without downloading the whole game. Meanwhile, developers will be able to create enormous open game worlds without enlarging the size of the games.
Reason №4: Ray Tracing
If we do not go far and keep to a simple and understandable language, ray tracing is a new technology that is going to give games more vividness thanks to realistic lightning. Ray tracing keeps an eye on how light is walking around the location including the way it is reflected and deflected on various surfaces (the name of the technology helps us to understand the new thing). Objects in a game will be able to collaborate with the surrounding light while the previous technologies worked with only one source of light. Say what you will, but ray tracing is a technology of the future that the owners of PlayStation 5 will soon be able to try in reality. Some may argue that this feature has already been available for PC users for a long time but we should notice that to make this technology work you will need very powerful hardware that will cost several times more than a console.
Reason №5: Three-Dimensional Sound
While both stereo and dimensional sounds have their undeniable advantages, nothing is compared to the beauty of three-dimensional sound in video games. Some people that are not good at the mentioned types may face a question: what is the difference? To keep it simple, 3D sound lets us listen to the sounds in the way that it seems that their sources are near you. And we shouldn’t say that this increases that effect of immersion into the game. What did games do before? They simulated three-dimensional sound increasing the volume when the character was approaching the object. Here you can hear the sound of separated drops of a heavy rain according to the position of your character.
A Couple of like a Farewell Speech
As you see, there are lots of reasons to buy PlayStation 5: exclusive titles, SSD that is going to kill the time of loading, ray tracing, and three-dimensional sound. Of course, there will be some people that will be scared away by the price of the new device. But purchasing of PlayStation 5, you should understand that you take a device that has downward compatibility of games of the previous generation (so at the beginning when there are just a few fresh games your console will not stand idle and cover with dust as there are thousands of games from the previous generation), but it will keep its relevance during the next several years (and will be much cheaper than analogous hardware for a PC).
