Live broadcasts are becoming more common
Maksym YushytsynLet's Plays channels on YouTube are still very popular, but the live broadcast of games on Twitch or Mixer is slowly but surely overtaking them. Spectators prefer shooting games such as Counter-Strike and Fortnite or MOBA (Multiplayer Online Battle Arena), as well as League of Legends.
The popularity of other games, of course, depends on the region. For example, in the United States, live broadcasts from Madden NFL matches are much more in demand. Spectators in this country are more likely to prefer FIFA. However, now almost every genre is represented on different streaming platforms - streamers, they even specialize in casino games, such as slots and poker, and regularly broadcast live from there.
How can I broadcast games live?
There are no serious obstacles to becoming a streamer. Of course, you need a personal computer with game support or a console, such as the Xbox, for which Microsoft has optimally adapted its own Mixer application. Of course, you need a fairly fast Internet connection. And finally, the stream should at least be displayed in Full HD, i.e. have a resolution of 1080p. A download speed of up to 6 Mbps is recommended, with which you can transfer 0.75 megabytes per second.
To get started esports streams on Twitch, you need to install additional software on your computer. The most common software is probably the free program OBS Studio (Open Broadcaster Software), which is available on the operating systems Windows, maxOS, Linux. Although Twitch introduced other data transfer software on the official website, Mixer users do not need any additional software for either Windows 10 or Xbox One, as this application provides live streaming of games using their own means.
How to become a successful streamer?
Since the path to creating your own live broadcast is very simple, now there are a lot of streamers who are sometimes very successful, but most often they have no major achievements. The first stumbling block is usually the technical equipment. Naturally, streamers with a slow communication line or weak audio equipment almost do not attract viewers. It will be difficult to create a base of fans for those who go online only from time to time. To succeed, you need to broadcast live several times a week at certain times. In this way, you can provide regular users, who sooner or later begin to turn on the channel themselves.
It is the new streamers who often dream of the fact that one day they still manage to make money on their broadcasts. However, remember that stories about successful streamers are the exception rather than the rule. Therefore, you need to perceive your occupation as entertainment and find your own style of communication with the audience. In addition, you should contact the audience outside the channel and be active in social networks such as Instagram, Facebook, Twitter.
If you manage to turn around a bit, you can, for example, place an account for charitable receipts on your own channel in the PayPal online payment system and hope that after a successful broadcast, viewers will send you one or two euros.
