/Riot Games has decided to change the format of the upcoming VCT 2021: Stage 3 Masters - Berlin. The changes are due to strong discontent from the community, which did not like the number of participants in the playoffs.
According to the new rules, two teams will qualify from each group, that is, eight teams will play in the playoffs, and not four, as was originally announced. In addition, the organizers decided to remove the final group stage match.
Based on player and fan feedback, the VCT 2021: Stage 3 Masters - Berlin playoffs will expand to eight teams and remove the final group stage match. More details on the format of the championship will be announced next week.
Currently, the names of 13 of the 16 teams that will take part in VCT 2021: Stage 3 Masters - Berlin are already known. Acend, SuperMassive Blaze, Gambit Esports, G2 Esports, Sentinels, 100 Thieves, Team Envy, Vision Strikers, F4Q, ZETA DIVISION, Crazy Raccoon, Havan Liberty and KRÜ Esports will comprise three teams from Brazil and Southeast Asia.
VCT 2021: Stage 3 Masters - Berlin will take place from 10 to 19 September at Verti Music Hall. The winner of the championship will receive not only a solid cash prize, but also the right to take part in VALORANT Champions 2021 at the end of the year. This tournament is expected to take place in Los Angeles from November 29 to December 12.
