
EMEA Stage 2 – Week 5 Day 2: Team Vitality and Team Heretics Strengthen Their Positions
As part of VALORANT EMEA Stage 2 — Week 5 Day 2, two key matches took place. Team Vitality defeated Gentle Mates with a 2:1 score, while Team Heretics secured a confident 2:0 victory over GIANTX. At the time of publication, the matches FUT Esports vs BBL Esports and Team Liquid vs Karmine Corp were yet to be played.
How the Matches Went
Gentle Mates vs Team Vitality (1:2) — a tense encounter in which Gentle Mates managed to take one map, but Vitality proved stronger in the remaining two. This win significantly boosted their chances of reaching the playoffs.
GIANTX vs Team Heretics (0:2) — Heretics delivered a dominant performance, leaving no opportunities for their opponents, and moved even closer to the top spot in their group.
Tournament Situation
Following these results, Team Heretics have almost secured a top-4 finish, Team Vitality have taken an important step toward the upper playoff bracket, while Gentle Mates and GIANTX are now in a risky position and will need wins in their remaining matches to stay in contention.
The EMEA Stage 2 format is a group stage (Round Robin, Bo3) with 12 participating teams, where only the top four from each group qualify for the playoffs.
VCT 2025: EMEA Stage 2 is an S-tier offline tournament organized by Riot Games, held in Berlin from July 16 to August 31, 2025. It features twelve EMEA teams, a Bo3 group stage, and a double-elimination playoff bracket, with the top two teams securing a spot at Valorant Champions 2025 in Paris.
