Team Heretics Defeat RRQ 2:0 and Advance to EWC 2025 Playoffs
Riyadh, July 10, 2025 — In the final match of the Esports World Cup 2025 group stage, Team Heretics confidently defeated RRQ (Rex Regum Qeon) with a clean 2:0 scoreline, securing a spot in the playoffs. The European squad displayed strong coordination and standout individual performances when it mattered most.

- Map 1 – Sunset: 13:3Heretics took control from the very beginning and dominated the map. Wo0t on KAY/O and RieNs on Sova each racked up over 20 kills, setting a fast pace for the entire series.
- Map 2 – Icebox: 13:9The second map was much closer and lasted over an hour, but Heretics held firm to close it out. MiniBoo delivered a standout performance with 30/22/7, while benjyfishy showed strong damage output and consistency in key rounds.
Team Heretics claim the second playoff slot from Group C, finishing just behind NRG, who had already advanced. RRQ, on the other hand, end their tournament run in 9th–12th place, falling short of the playoff bracket.
Key Players and Stats
Wo0t led the team with approximately 1.9 ACS and was crucial in winning key rounds. RieNs recorded 100% KAST on the first map and controlled critical areas effectively. On Icebox, both MiniBoo and benjyfishy displayed excellent firepower, each securing close to 30 kills with high ACS (around 1.4–1.5).
From RRQ, xffero and Kushy managed solid performances, but the rest of the roster struggled to keep up with Heretics’ pace.
The Esports World Cup 2025 is a Valorant championship organized by the EWC Foundation and ESL FACEIT Group. The tournament will feature 16 teams competing for a total prize pool of $1,250,000. The event will take place in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia.
