Riot Games has issued an official statement announcing the postponement of the duel between the FunPlus Phoenix and XSET teams in the group stage of VALORANT Champions 2022. As a result, the meeting will be played tomorrow, September 5, citing the poor health of the players.

Due to the unwellness of several players, FunPlus Phoenix will not be able to field the full roster for the previously scheduled match on September 4th. As a result, we have made the decision to reschedule the match to September 5th to give FunPlus Phoenix some extra recovery time. Competitions on September 5 will start two hours earlier and will include three matches. The start time of matches on September 4 will remain the same. We thank you for your understanding.

Recall that the duel between the FunPlus Phoenix and XSET teams should be decisive for the participants, since the winner of the match will proceed to the playoffs of the competition.

It is worth noting that these are not the first complaints from esports players - d4v41 (Paper Rex) and ardiis (FunPlus Phoenix) were hospitalized, an EDward Gaming player got infected with a coronavirus, Victor has signs of food poisoning. At the same time, Boaster, mini (coach) and Enzo (all Fnatic) complained about feeling unwell on different days.

VALORANT Champions 2022 takes place from August 31 to September 18 in Istanbul at the Volkswagen Arena. As part of the championship, sixteen teams from Europe, North and South America, Brazil, South Korea, Japan, China and Southeast Asia are fighting for a total prize pool of $1,000,000.
