rhyme to be FunPlus Phoenix's alternate at VALORANT Champions 2022

According to ardiis in an interview with VLR.gg, rhyme will be the back-up player for FunPlus Phoenix at the upcoming VALORANT Champions 2022. obtaining a visa.

With visas everything should be in order. I think ANGE1 may be late for the event, about five days later than us, but he still has a visa. As for the backup, I think we've narrowed it down to rhyme from a shortlist of about 50 people. There is a possibility that a replacement will not be needed, so we had to make sure that this is fair to the person and that he is useful to the team. In the ideal scenario, we could invite someone like shroud, but we didn't want to force him to fly in from North America, given that he might not play.

rhyme made a name for himself early on in VALORANT as part of Ninjas in Pajamas. Together with the team, the 24-year-old Norwegian managed to win GLX Elite: EU and VCT 2021: Europe Stage 1 Challengers 1, as well as get into the TOP-3 according to the results of WePlay! Invitational and VCT 2021: Europe Stage 2 Challengers 1.

The last team in rhyme's career was Gen.G Esports, with whom he took second place in the Proving Grounds $20k - Spring 2022. However, back in July, the Norwegian left the team with which he failed to succeed in North America.

Recall that a little earlier, the FunPlus Phoenix team announced the search for a substitute player for the upcoming championship. Given its past experience, the line-up might need to be replaced in case of unforeseen situations.

VALORANT Champions 2022 will take place from August 31 to September 18 in Istanbul at the Volkswagen Arena. Sixteen teams from all over the world will take part in the championship. The European team got into group C, where KRÜ Esports, XSET, XERXIA will also be represented.
