Guild Esports and Fnatic qualified for VCT 2022: Stage 2 Masters - Copenhagen
The second game day of the VALORANT Champions Tour 2022: EMEA Stage 2 Challengers playoffs has come to an end, following which the Guild Esports and Fnatic teams have qualified for the VALORANT Champions Tour 2022: Stage 2 Masters - Copenhagen. In the semi-finals of the upper bracket of the championship, they managed to outplay M3 Champions (2:0) and FunPlus Phoenix (2:1), thus guaranteeing themselves a place in the top three.
Guild Esports - M3 Champions
The first meeting of the game day started on the Breeze map, which became the choice of the Russian team. At the same time, the nominal “hosts” failed to seize the initiative, allowing the opponent to close the first half with a comfortable score of 9:3. After the side switch, M3 Champions failed to return to the game, thus allowing Guild Esports to take the lead in the series — 13:6.
Next, the teams moved to the Fracture map, the first half of which ended with a minimal advantage in favor of Guild Esports. In the second half, the game also broke into equal segments. Nevertheless, Guild Esports managed to keep the lead, and at the same time get the overall victory in the series, guaranteeing itself a participation in the VALORANT Champions Tour 2022: Stage 2 Masters - Copenhagen - 13:11.
Fnatic-FunPlus Phoenix
The final match of the game day started on the Icebox map, the first half of which went by a wide margin in favor of Fnatic. At the same time, after switching sides, FunPlus Phoenix failed to return to the game, thereby allowing the opponent to take the lead in the series — 13:6.
Next, the teams moved to the Ascent map, where they failed to determine the strongest in the two halves. And yet, FunPlus Phoenix managed to snatch victory in overtime, and at the same time even the score in this series — 14:12.
Everything was decided on the Fracture map, where FunPlus Phoenix once again tried on the role of recouping. This time, Fnatic did not let go of the initiative, thus making it to the final of the upper bracket of VALORANT Champions Tour 2022: EMEA Stage 2 Challengers - 13:9.
