In the spotlight – the lower bracket of the LPL 2025 Split 2 Knockout Stage. We're watching the match between Team WE and JD Gaming for survival in the tournament.
The winner of the Team WE – JD Gaming pair will face Top Esports in the next round of the playoffs. We'll analyze which of the two it will be.
How the bookies view it: JD Gaming favorite
Before the full betting tip for the JDG – Team WE match, let’s determine the favorite. JD Gaming are the clear favorites, and bookmakers confirm this.
The average odds for JDG to win against Team WE are 1.17. The reason for such a gap in odds is the level of performance shown by the teams during LPL 2025 Split 2 and the overall skill level of their players.
However, after the first round of the LPL 2025 Split 2 playoffs, JD Gaming don’t look like a team capable of taking top spots this split. Things might change, but for now, this is the case.
Now, to the core of the matter.
JD Gaming form. What result can be expected from JDG
We open our betting tips with an analysis of the team’s current form. Throughout their history, JD Gaming have remained a title-contending team – and for good reason.
JD Gaming quite easily became champions of the spring edition of the LPL. The only difficult match occurred in the upper bracket semifinals, where BLG caused JDG some trouble, taking two maps.
- JD Gaming roster: Ale, Xun, Scout, Peyz, MISSING.
Besides that, JD Gaming were the champions of the first major international event in 2023 – the Mid-Season Invitational 2023. In the group stage of LPL Summer 2023, JD came close to beating BLG’s record, finishing with a 14-2 score.
In the first round of the main stage, JD Gaming faced LNG Esports. LNG showed top-tier performance and pushed the reigning world champions to five maps, but the match still ended in favor of Ruler and co.
Next were BLG, who didn’t put up the same resistance as LNG Esports. JD Gaming swept the LPL Spring and MSI 2023 finalists in the upper final of LPL Summer 2023, closing the series 3-0.
In the grand final of LPL Summer 2023, LNG Esports gave a serious fight to the mighty JDG. Scout and the team took two maps right away, but that wasn’t enough to secure a win.
JDG debuted with a win over BDS. It’s worth noting the European team held their own until about the 20-minute mark. A more one-sided scoreline was expected than the final 14-6 in favor of the Chinese.
In their second match, JD Gaming played against Bilibili Gaming, MSI 2023 and LPL Spring 2023 runners-up. As the best team in China, JDG easily defeated the country’s third-best team, closing the series 19-7 in 24 minutes.
In the match for a playoff spot, JD Gaming faced fellow Chinese team LNG Esports. They won, but not without trouble (2-1).
In the first playoff match, JD Gaming played against KT Rolster. After losing the first map, JDG demonstrated why they were the main contenders for winning Worlds 2023: absolutely dominant gameplay with no chances left for KT Rolster’s side.
The situation reversed in the next match. Facing T1, JDG only managed to take one map in a Bo5 series. JDG’s Golden Road in 2023 ended with that loss to T1.
JD Gaming began the Demacia Cup 2023 playoffs with a match against TOP Esports, winning 3-2. In the previous match, JDG crushed Rare Atom 3-0. In the Demacia Cup 2023 grand final, however, they were weaker than BLG, losing 0-3 and finishing in 2nd place.
In the regular season of LPL Spring 2024, JD Gaming finished 3rd, ending the season with a 13-3 record. Their first playoff opponent was Weibo Gaming, and JDG handled them easily: 3-0. However, the next match against TOP Esports was much less favorable for JDG, who lost hopelessly 0-3. In the match for a TOP-3 spot, JD Gaming met NiP in what turned out to be a true test. JD struggled but eventually won. Still, they couldn’t go further than TOP-3, as TES knocked JD Gaming out of LPL Spring 2024.
At LPL Summer 2024, with a revamped format, JD Gaming started in Group A of the Opening Stage, steamrolling the opposition with a 6-0 score. In the Rumble Stage, they finished 4-4, placing 5th and advancing to the second round of the playoffs. In their first playoff match, JD Gaming faced Ninjas in Pyjamas and lost 2-3 – the biggest upset of LPL Summer 2024.
They started the 2025 season in the group stage of LPL Spring 2025 in Group B, going 3-0 and advancing straight to the upper stage of the main event, where they reached TOP-3.
In LPL 2025 Split 2, they finished TOP-2 in Group D. Later, in the Rumble Stage, they placed 3rd and advanced to the playoffs. In the first playoff round, they lost to Weibo – albeit narrowly – 2-3.

Team WE form. What result can be expected from Team WE
We continue our betting tip with an analysis of Team WE, who enter this match as underdogs. And that's not surprising – just look at their track record.
Team WE clearly failed the season before last. The team finished 15th at LPL Spring 2022 and 17th at LPL Summer 2022. However, they managed to slightly improve during LPL Spring 2023.
Reaching the playoffs of LPL Spring 2023 was already an achievement. They won 8 out of 16 matches to make it to the main stage. However, they couldn’t go beyond TOP-10.
After a rather poor domestic performance, Team WE continued competing in the LPL – in LPL Summer 2023. During the tournament, WE managed to reach the TOP-9 in the group stage, thus securing a playoff spot. But their journey ended in the first main stage round: WE lost 1-3 to EDG and finished TOP-10 in LPL Summer 2023.
Before appearing at Demacia Cup 2023, Team WE also played at NEST 2023 – a hybrid Asian tournament featuring both pros and amateurs. WE performed confidently in the group stage, finishing 2nd and advancing to playoffs but were immediately eliminated by JD Gaming. Final standing – TOP-6.
- Team WE roster: Wayward, Heng, FoFo, Prince, Iwandy.
They entered Demacia Cup with an experimental roster. Prince was the only non-starter, but overall the lineup was solid. Still, it didn’t help Team WE get out of the group – they finished TOP-12 at Demacia Cup 2023, which is far from a good result.
As a mid-tier team at best, Team WE reached the main stage of LPL Spring 2024, which was a decent result. However, they couldn’t go beyond the second round of playoffs, finishing in the TOP-8.
They also played in LPL Summer 2024, where things went much worse – they ended up in the TOP-16. They concluded the year by playing in Demacia Cup 2024, also finishing in the TOP-16.
They began the 2025 season just like they ended the previous one. At LPL 2025 Split 1, they finished TOP-16.
At LPL 2025 Split 2, they advanced from the group stage via the additional Ascend qualification round and then finished TOP-6 in the Rumble Stage. In the first round of the playoffs, they were effortlessly defeated by the tournament favorite – Anyone’s Legend.

The JDG mid-laner and ADC have earned their reputation not only in China but also on the international stage, with multiple regional league and global event titles. Against WE, they’re expected to dominate their lanes and lead JD Gaming to an easy victory.
