GAM Esports, which won a spot in the VCS Spring 2021 Vietnamese Split, will not be able to attend one of the main League of Legends events due to the restrictions imposed on the country. Due to this, the MSI 2021 Participant List has been changed.

The team had to face off against other competitors from Group A, namely Royal Never Give Up, Unicorns of Love and Pentanet.GG. Riot Games decided not to change anything and in the playoffs everything is the same as it was planned before, two teams will come out.

The organizers commented on their action as follows:

"It was very difficult for us to make this decision. We want to give the global League of Legends community an unforgettable experience, but the health and safety of players and staff is our top priority. This is our first international tournament this year, and we look forward to your support and understanding."...

The Mid-Season Invitational 2021 will take place from 6 to 22 May in the capital of Iceland, Reykjavik. Information about the prize fund of the event is currently unknown.
