Mercedes partners with League of Legends championships
Ihor MatusThe information appeared at a closed press conference held by Riot Games. Mercedes-Benz became the first automaker to partner with Riot Games. As part of the collaboration, Mercedes will provide branded content that will somehow be associated with the League of Legends championships.
In addition, the German company will provide transport for e-sports clubs so that they can get to the tournament sites without any problems. Cooperation with Mercedes-Benz is planned not only within the World Championship 2020, but also in other championships, for example, All-Stars and Mid-Season Invitational.
Collaboration with sports and eSports partners is nothing new for Mercedes-Benz. The German company has entered into sponsorship agreements with the organizers of golf, football and motorsport championships. When it comes to eSports, Mercedes regularly attend ESL Dota 2 tournaments as one of the main sponsors - the best players receive a new car certificate. LPL Summer 2020 also had a partnership with a German company, and therefore Mercedes' entry into the League of Legends space is also not new.
The premise for cooperation with Mercedes-Benz in the framework was noticed even during the showing of an animated clip, where a German car appeared in one of the frames.
