In one of the most anticipated matches of the day, the veteran squad of Fnatic, entering with a 3-2 record, faced off against the ambitious Shifters, who held a 2-3 record. On paper, the more experienced Fnatic lineup was favored to win, but Shifters came prepared to challenge that expectation.

  • Shifters: K'Sante, Maokai, LeBlanc, Smolder, Rell
  • Fnatic: Udyr, Ivern, Azir, Varus, Bard

The early game was a calculated dance, with both teams vying for control. Shifters, however, found their opening in the bot lane. Their composition, built around protecting and enabling the late-game scaling of Smolder, paid off as they secured an early gold lead. With effective ganks from Maokai and pressure from their bot lane duo, Shifters began to build a tangible advantage by the 15-minute mark.

As the match transitioned into the mid-game, Shifters' composition hit its stride. LeBlanc began to find pickoffs on isolated members of Fnatic, creating pressure across the map. This map control allowed Shifters to secure crucial objectives, including multiple dragons, further snowballing their lead. Fnatic attempted to rally and find team fights, but Shifters' superior vision control and objective focus kept them one step ahead.

The late game was a masterclass in execution from Shifters. After securing a critical team fight win around the Baron pit, they claimed the powerful buff and began their final siege. Fnatic fought valiantly to defend their base, but the combination of a fed Smolder and the overwhelming pressure from Baron-empowered minions was too much to handle. Shifters closed out the game decisively, securing a major victory that brings their record to 3-3, creating a tie with Fnatic in the standings.

This year, the LEC Versus 2026 does not provide a cash prize for winning the tournament. Instead, teams are competing for the opportunity to qualify for the international tournament, First Stand 2026. The Regular Season will be held in a Bo1 format, where every team faces each other. In total, teams will play 11 matches each, and those with the best results will advance to the playoffs.
