Riot Games has announced that Estral player Park “Summit” Woo-tae has been temporarily suspended from competition due to alleged rule violations. The esports athlete will not be able to participate in the LTA North Promotion tournament for League of Legends until the investigation is concluded; however, the organization is allowed to make a roster substitution.

The match between Estral and Disguised was interrupted for an extended period due to DDoS attacks. During the technical pause, observers noticed that Summit was watching game replays.

On the official LTA North page, Riot Games representatives stated: “After carefully reviewing the allegations made during the LTA North Promotion Tournament between Estral Esports and Disguised, the referees have temporarily suspended Summit from participating in matches until the full investigation is completed.”

Riot also reminded teams of the Global Esports Code of Conduct, 2025 edition (page 12, section 4.3), which defines cheating as the use of any “methods, techniques, or technologies in or outside the game” that provide a player or team with an “unfair advantage.”

In a statement, Estral representatives explained that the DDoS attack caused a pause lasting over two hours, during which the team did not receive any clear instructions or communication from the organizers. The organization emphasized that Summit’s actions were not an intentional attempt to cheat but rather the result of confusion and a stressful situation. Estral called for a more balanced and understanding approach in reviewing the appeal.
