The first match of the day took place in the Legend Group, featuring a showdown between Gen.G — the top team in the group — and fourth-place KT Rolster. Gen.G came in as the clear favorites, but let’s take a look at how the match actually unfolded.

Game 1 Picks:

  • Gen.G Esports: Gwen, Wukong, Galio, Kai`Sa, Rell
  • KT Rolster: Aurora, Xin Zhao, Annie, Sivir, Nautilus

Game 2 Picks:

  • Gen.G Esports: Ambessa, Vi, Ryze, Senna, Bard
  • KT Rolster: Yorik, Trundle, Taliyah, Ziggs, Leona

Game 1 started off very well for KT Rolster, as they maintained solid map control and looked to engage at every opportunity, using their early lead effectively. They consistently came out ahead in teamfights, often scoring four kills per skirmish, and the match looked firmly in their hands. Even after securing the dragon soul and Baron, however, KT couldn't stop Gen.G’s comeback. Gen.G forced a fight in the bottom jungle, landed their skills perfectly, and wiped out four KT champions. Without hesitation, they marched down and destroyed the enemy base.

Game 2 followed a very similar pattern. KT Rolster once again built an early advantage, played well around objectives — trading Rift Herald and Void Grubs for dragons — and seemed to have control over the game. Their fights were going smoothly at first, as Ambessa tanked effectively and Senna was starting to scale. But one crucial teamfight changed everything. Gen.G outpositioned KT and completely turned the tide. From that moment on, the gold lead shifted in Gen.G’s favor, and they snowballed it with a few more clean teamfights. In the end, Gen.G closed out the series with a 2–0 victory.

The MVP of the match was Chovy, who earned his 12th MVP title of the season. He posted an impressive 4/1/9 on Galio and 7/1/9 on Ryze.

With this win, Gen.G improved to an outstanding 20–1 record, further solidifying themselves as the tournament’s top favorite. Meanwhile, KT Rolster now sit at a 11–11 record, evening out their wins and losses in the group stage.
