EMEA Masters Winter 2025: Day 1 Results

The first day of the new winter split of EMEA Masters Winter 2025 has come to an end, and we already have the first winners and losers. The 16 best teams in Europe were divided into four groups. The group stage follows the GSL Group Stage format, and all matches are played in Fearless Draft mode in a best-of-three (Bo3) format.
Group A:
- SuperMassive 2:0 Zero Tenacity
- Geekay Esports 2:0 Barça eSports
Thus, SuperMassive and Geekay Esports advance through the upper bracket of the tournament. Meanwhile, Zero Tenacity and Barça eSports drop to the lower bracket, where the loser will be eliminated from the tournament.
Group B:
- BIG 2:0 Crvena zvezda Esports
- Team Phantasma 1:2 Ici Japon Corp.
In Group B, BIG and Ici Japon Corp. advance through the upper bracket, while Crvena zvezda Esports and Team Phantasma drop to the lower bracket, where they will face each other in an elimination match.
Group C:
- Los Heretics 2:0 ZennIT
- Macko Esports 2:0 Flame Hard
In Group C, just like in Group A, there were no surprises, and all matches ended with a clean sweep. Los Heretics and Macko Esports advance and will face each other in the upper bracket. Meanwhile, ZennIT and Flame Hard will fight for survival in the lower bracket.
Group D:
- Karmine Corp Blue 2:1 E WIE EINFACH
- NightBirds 0:2 Los Ratones
In Group D, after the first day's results, Karmine Corp Blue and Los Ratones will face off—two of the most high-profile teams in the tournament. Will KC Blue be able to defeat such a strong opponent despite having two substitutes, or will they have to fight for a playoff spot through the lower bracket?

After the group stage, only eight teams will remain in the tournament and advance to the playoffs. The playoffs will follow a Single Elimination format, making the matches even more exciting and intense. All matches will be played in a best-of-five (Bo5) format.
EMEA Masters Winter 2025 is a welcome addition, as the increase in high-level tournaments has a positive impact on the development of the semi-professional scene. It's also exciting to see many new teams participating, teams that haven't competed in previous EMEA Masters events. It's clear that these teams are hungry for victory and ready to fight until the very end for the EMEA Masters Winter 2025 title and the €40,000 prize pool.
